Just a thought.
I was thinking that it would be nice if we could arrange a meeting between those of us who are very active members of AFF. I think that it would be an interesting experience to say the least.

No.

Re: Just a thought.
Mesa, AZ is a nice central location. We already have a few people who live in the area. :)

Better than in AK. I live in East Moline, IL, but I do not know of any other posters who live very close. |

I'm ready!

Re: Just a thought.
I suppose that Bro. Epley would be very central all things considered. Or maybe Tulsa, but I would not wish to stir the pot. :D
|
Re: Just a thought.
Just kidding. I'm probably too new to get invited anyway :)
|
Re: Just a thought.
yeah. that's the reason.
|
Re: Just a thought.
You were one of those that I had in mind. I could make a list, but I would be afraid of hurting someone.

Yeah Houston... then I could cook for everybody! Home grown steaks and chicken on the grill, lots of veggies and a big salad... Homemade berry cobbler with fresh cream home churned icecream on top... and everybody could take home some jams and jellies and pickles and cheese and goats milk soap.
Oh... and maybe I could con at least one of you in to taking one of these puppies! :) |

We can pitch a tent on the farm. Have a tent revival. Pray ya'll through, Amen!

Re: Just a thought.
I like the sound of that. However, I do not know where T2W lives.

I do not skim, I just can't see. There are reasons that I have two pair of eyes.

Re: Just a thought.
Houston and I are just a few miles apart I think.
My cow message board did this... well we've done a bunch of meet-ups. Us Texans had about 40 at ours with tons of fresh homemade pot luck style food and we had a milk tasting contest with 8 different breeds of cows and 6 breeds of goats. I won the cows, so you know the ice-cream will be delish. We didn't host but we did bring the cow for everyone to try milking that was just wanting to get into it. It was so much fun. The chicken folks from Backyard Chickens do one every year too. The nicest folks host (same ones every time). They have a huge place in the country. The farm is 33 acres but my little 1931 farm house will not hold a huge crowd. As long as the weather is nice there is plenty to do. Horseback riding, horse shoes, we have a basketball court/goal thingy. Fishing, rocking on the porch, a sandbox and tire swings for the kids, a shooting range... hiking in the woods. Well maybe some folks would be really bored with all that kind of stuff... No TV or video games... but it keeps me entertained :) Oh and my favorite thing... on cool nights we build a camp fire. Don plays guitar and I play harmonica and we sing and roast weenies and marshmallows. |

Re: Just a thought.
Over the years I have met dozens of AFF (and prior forums) posters - always a fun experience. There have also been a couple reunion of sorts, but I never made one of those.
I would like to meet you whenever we can arrange it Jay... |
Re: Just a thought.
I think that this is something that we ought to start planning now, so that everyone can budget for it. Perhaps around June/July of next year Everyone possible, and near perfect weather for a get together.
|
Re: Just a thought.
Well, I guess we could all meet up at Lamberts in Springfield, MO........
|
Re: Just a thought.
That sounds like a great place to meet. Can you imagine if enough of us walked in there? We would to be there very early considering the number of people they would be having to get in. :D

Re: Just a thought.
We're living in the northwest now, so ... would have a long way to go for me.. i would have to enjoy the fun hearing bout it from y'all.. :)
|
Re: Just a thought.
What is sad is that jtullock lives about a mile from me and we have yet to meet.

Jay are you married? Kids? That sure changes things - big time! :nod |
Re: Just a thought.
Our kids are grown but we have... cows... and cows have to be milked twice a day :) So anything past a day trip only works for us during the dry time, which this year is planned for April/May so I can go to Aruba for our friends renewing of their vows on their 25th wedding anniversary. They stood up for us at our wedding and really sacrificed to be there (not that Aruba will be a big sacrifice, lol!) When I get home I have ladies conference and then I have to be home in case anyone calves early.
But if any of you ever gets down to Texas let us know :) |
