Gas Prices!!

OK, yesterday I put $80.00 in my service van, TODAY $97.00!

This is getting rediculous. I found the cheapest station at $3.30 per gallon.

How much are you paying??

Tina 05-19-2007 06:23 PM

Well, it was $2.92 yesterday when hubby filled up his truck.
Today he went to get gas in the can for the lawnmower, and it's $3.09

This is in the far southwestern corner of TN....it would be nice if people would post locations along with prices-- just for comparison. ;)

Tina, I am in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri.

I saw some stations were $3.34 and as high as 3.79 for premium blends.

Too much!!!

Actually the exchange is so bad Canadians aren't going to the States anymore for Vacations.

It is only 90 cents American for every Canadian dollar.

So that would be about $5.40 American.

To tell you the awful truth we have the distinction of having the highest prices in all of North America.

Yeah, Woo Hoo!:woohoo

Hoovie 05-19-2007 06:32 PM

I have resisted raising service prices or even adding a "surcharge". But I am about to make a substancial jump if it stays around $3.50 very long.

tamor 05-19-2007 06:32 PM

Hey Tina, get this.

Yesterday in Savannah, gas was $2.86 at Kroger and $2.99 at Wal-Mart. An hour and a half later, it was $2.99 at Kroger and $2.86 at Wal-Mart! I don't know what kind of games they were playing but I got gas at WM and the cars were three and four deep waiting to get to the pumps cause everyone else was charging $2,99 and up.

I am the Lead Hand for a Printing Company and all of the freight/courier companies charge a freight sur charge.

It can be as high as 20 %.

Maple Leaf 05-19-2007 06:35 PM

New Brunswick, Canada

Cdn $1.12/litre

3.78 litres/Make Believe Gallon (U.S. Gallon)

4.56 litres/Imperial Gallon

Cdn $4.23/U.S. Gallon

Approximately $3.85/Gallon in rapidly devaluing U.S. Dollars

I know I recieve several freight orders each month... and can pass it on in the product. But service calls are a bit more competitive.

I can believe it. People around here do crazy things with the gas prices. I mostly buy gas in Corinth-- once a week when I go to do my shopping. It was $2.86 there last weekend when I went.

I don't know if you've been down 57 through Pocahontas lately... but you may know where Taylors grocery/convenience store is. They have been stuck on $2.99 since the last time gas hit $3.00 a gallon. I guess they got tired of the up and down prices. I just don't buy gas there because it seems watered down or something-- my van will NOT run on their gas..

Yeah, I know where you're talking about. There are several places like that I won't buy either. I would pay a few cents more to get it somewhere else.

Jon works in Blue Mountain and he goes down 45 to Corinth. He said he watched it go up two days in a row - totally a 23 cents hike, at Selmer Wal-Mart this week.

Ron 05-19-2007 06:44 PM

The real price of Gas should be around .60-.70 Cents a litre.
Anything else is inflated for profit!!!

Trivia: for every one cent a litre increase it means another million dollars "PROFIT" FOR THE OIL COMPANIES!

I said profit not the cost of the goods.

I hope more people wake up and smell the petrol-we is being hosed!

Trouvere 05-19-2007 06:45 PM

3.15 here today. It makes me frustrated.I am sick of the rising prices. We have to get to work so we cannot not buy it.Near the interstate it was higher.

berkeley 05-19-2007 06:47 PM

Yeah, my daddy made me used premium. And it was fifty five cents. I can remember thinking, "Oh my gosh, I wonder what it would be like if gas got to a dollar....."

HeavenlyOne 05-19-2007 07:07 PM

Yesterday, $3.24. Today, $3.39. It's been that way.

A month ago, it was $2.75.

The least I can remember paying for gas was in 1988. There was a gas price war going on between two gas stations in Corinth.. one of them went down to 76 cents a gallon. We filled up both vehicles, and every gas can we owned.

Other than that time, the lowest price I can remember is $1.28... and we complained then too. :(

I remember that too. We filled up two cars in Corinth that night. I was freaking out over the price!

Today when we drove in from the River there was a sign that some kids were playing with.It said , 4.99.We know that was false but its not that strange.

jillian 05-19-2007 07:18 PM

Where I am it is about $2.99-$3.05 depending on the station for regular unleaded. A few months ago my son bought a used Honda Prelude that he really likes but it requires premium unleaded and those prices are killing him.

I am surprised people aren't "going postal" in gas stations!

Crazy when the stuff is made just down the road from our house, like 20 miles.

It's not their faults. Blame governments for not allowing drilling in Anwar. Blame local governments for not allowing new refineries (like in California). Blame the oil companies for NOT building new refineries and for conveniently shutting down for repairs at the same time and at the same time a refinery blows up. also blame them for putting most of the refineries in Hurricane Alley.

Blame George Bush or the Iranians. Blame congressmen who get paid by big oil lobbyists. Blame Americans who drive SUVs still and never do anything other than complaining yet still go on their long vacations and drive drive drive their gas guzzlers.

Blame Bush and the rest of our government and the Federal reserve for devaluing our dollar and 70 trillion in dept.

Blame the Chinese for buying more oil.
