Jonathan Suber

Were Jonathan Suber, Wendell Hutchins, and, or John Arcovio ever apart of the UPCI or ALJC? Just curious.

John Arcovio is still UPCI.

The other two were UPCI for many years.

Did the other 2 join another organization?

I am relatively sure J. Suber was at one point a member of the UPCI.

Jonathan Suber was big time UPC. What made his leaving interesting was that he left at his peak. He was preaching a lot of big time Campmeeting and conferences when he left. Pretty unusual. Most of the time the only big name preachers who leave are pastors of large churches that hey know will stick with them through leaving.

Suber went to Kenneth Phillips church in Austin Texas after leaving the UPC where he assisted for a year or two before leaving to pastor a church in Shreveport, Louisiana.

I met Pastor Suber this past Summer at my Dad's ordination service near Newport News, VA. My Dad was ordained to Bishop and Pastor Suber was present, but he did not take part in the ordination.

I was thrilled to know he was there and watched his sermon on DVD. I walked up to him and shook his hand, and took a few pictures of him and I pointed out my Dad to him. Of course, Pastor Suber doesn't know who I am, but I knew who he was and was very happy to meet him.

My Dad's church organization is so "Apostolic", the women MUST wear hats and closed toe shoes are a must!

The Senior Bishop of my Dad's organization made it VERY CLEAR throughout the entire convention that the Way of the Cross Church of Christ will NEVER depart from their interpretation of the Acts 2:38 message, making Pastor Suber's presence and preaching there a bit curious to me.
