Question For UPC Pastors and Elders

1 Timothy
Chapter 2
12: But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Why is this not obeyed in the UPC.

Bro. Winters ? :smack

Why just the UPC ? There are many Apostolic org's that do not obey this scripture as you have interpreted. So why the UPC?

Women are teaching because men sit back and let them by not obey the scripture and and following Jesus in their obligation to Him.
What is the word for woman in the Hebrew vocabulary? and what does it mean?

The Lord said " Do these women that these men let teach and usurp authority over men and stand up and preach as a man doeth, do these same women have access to this scripture in the Book of 1 Timothy in the Bible:

1 Timothy
Chapter 2
12: But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Multiply choice..Choose 1.

A. Yes, they can read it in the Book of 1 Timothy in the Bible.

B. No, they cannot read it in the Book of 1 Timothy in the Bible.

One is correct and one is incorrect.

Please no theories or commentaries on this question.

Just pick A. or B.

You can read what a women is to God in the Book of Genesis.

Bert, I remember you from Mary Poppins!! Way kewl.

I take it you have issue with the way "UPC" does things in regard to women in ministry? I would need to understand your position better in order to really comment in that regard. There is a wide variety of beliefs on this topic - even in the UPC. My own beliefs are similar to that of the largest protestant denomination in the US - Southern Baptist which does not ordain women as pastors. However, even the UPC does not accept women in higher leadership positions.

Are you pro or con ordination of women?

Re: Question For UPC Pastors and Elders

To me it is disrespectful to read anything that I have posted and ask me anything that is disrespectful.

For example

If the Lord just got through telling me that he did not want to see me doing something

then I ask him if it was alright if I did it while he was not looking

Do you think he would count that as being disrespectful?

If you are not wise enough to converse with me with out disrespecting me in any way, then I recommend that you do not post anything to me.

You can read what a women is to God in the Book of Genesis.

How can you have a multiple choice question with an answer of either A or B, if your question is asking "Why"..... and you don't want to accept "theories" or commentaries ?

If you just want to focus on this one verse, how can you progress in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Isn't it all about Jesus Christ, and not about man's traditions, and rules ? Isn't this the issues that Jesus pointed out to the religious leaders of His time ?

You would want to re-think your approach to God's word. The question you should've ask should have been "Why did the Apostle Paul teach this instruction to Timothy ?"...and stop fault finding.

If you think the Lord is going to let you put any of your evil on me or put me to shame in any way whatsoever.

You are going to be in for a great disappointment.

I walk with the Lord God.

Well I'm not surprised at your answer. It makes about as little sense as the rest of your posting. You think you can have your say and then demand that others, who are not very wise, not post anything in response unless they respect you. Get a life! Sounds like you're stuck on yourself! I'm done! Good night!

Do you think any of this is going to convince the Lord to not do what he is going to do because of the disobedience by the UPC and all the rest of the christians of his Word?

You are just another of the millions of evildoers that think they have been accepted by the Lord.

Who is going to be gnashing the teeth in the end.

You people seem to think you are the walk of God.

I have news for you. The wrath of God is coming soon...very soon.

I doubt any of you that I have conversed here so far will make it through it.

You seem to think as they did in sodom when lot told them to get up for the lord is going to destroy this place and they mocked him and made sport of him as if it was some joke.

you people are in for a great shock and it is going to be very soon. Sooner than you know and think.

No you will not be doing no more laughing.

Thus saith the Lord.

Is this the Word of God?

Chapter 2

The Lord told me that what you all can do that do not want to obey this scripture

1 Timothy
Chapter 2
12: But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Just order you some custom made bibles. And have them change it to this;

But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence unless you do not feel like it.
