You would insist he have expensive surgery before blessing your church w/ his ministry????

If he refuses ??? this can be painful and even dangerous ..... or what if he can't afford it?

SDG 05-20-2007 02:18 PM

Do we require others that minister w/ other body tattoos to remove them first ????

SDG 05-20-2007 02:19 PM

Are we willing to turn him away ... ????

I don't see why not. But, honestly Dan, how many of these guys do you know? Would you use him?

berkeley 05-20-2007 02:28 PM

Yes! If I was a pastor I'd allow him on the platform to minister! God is a merciful God! If God saved him, who am I to tell him that he can't minister because of his past mistakes?

maybe I'm just too accepting of people....

Luke 12:48
But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

Luke 7:47
Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

I personally think that his appearance would distract from his message.

I have to seriously wonder about somebody that would disfigure himself in that manner. I believe it strongly contradicts the "moderation/modesty" principle that's taught so clearly throughout scripture.

Personally, I wouldn't care to have someone who looks like that on the platform. He would definitely be an example of how a Christian ought NOT to look rather than the other way around and I'd hate for other young people to look to him as a role model and find excuse why it would be okay for them to disfigure themselves even if it was to a much much lesser degree.

BUT .... obviously this was done before coming to Christ ... what if someone disfigured/burned their face from FREE-BASING ... would it be any different???

Ridiculous!! You would hold his past mistakes against him!! Or maybe you didn't read that he did this pre-conversion!!

Praxeas 05-20-2007 04:23 PM

What if Jan the Crouch had her face permanently tattooed to look like makeup?

Felicity 05-20-2007 04:25 PM

Oops, sorry guys. I didn't realize he did that to himself  before getting borned again. And I haven't read through this thread.

this is possible .... some woman have chosen to do so ....

Brett Prince 05-20-2007 04:28 PM

I have no idea what I would do. I would have to hear from God and sense his spirit--that is, the man's spirit.

You would doubt his conversion, is what you're saying!

If she does this before conversion, then sure, she can speak to the ladies :)

Do you make it clear that you renounce everything that you did?

Someone at GNC said they should have to make a disclaimer in every sermon/teaching .... I think that's ridiculous ... do other preachers give disclaimers before every message for their past mistakes ....

We love to ostracize people!!!!!!!!!
