Got Any Plans For The Summer?

Do you have any plans for the summer?
Are you going to Church Camp?
Going Camping perhaps?
Visiting relatives?

I just hear that Bro Mooney is going to be preaching our Church camp this year.
He is good.

No camping-yet.

Disneyland is a prospect-but not this year.

You?

Rico 05-21-2007 09:58 AM

I have two words for you-CAMPING and FISHING. We discovered a place to go camping, not too far from home, that has a 66 acre lake with lots of bluegill, bass, and catfish that are just dyin to meet my fryin pan.

Ron 05-21-2007 10:01 AM

Sounds cool. Is it in Indiana?

I want to take my son fishing.

Yup. It's in a town called Boonville, IN, about 25 miles from here. My son and I went fishing there Saturday and had a good time. The fish we caught weren't huge or anything, but what I'd call pansize, which is good eating.

Hope to get some camping in ... at Austin ....
Will go to Wilmington, NC to have a family reunion ....
and hopefully I can go to NYC for a little bit.

Family reunion's are cool.
I met my cousins from another town in B.C. called Trail. It's about 8 hours from Vancouver.
They are independent Pentecostals and they tried to witness to me and gave me my first Bible as an Adult.
It was called The Message. I read it. Had a roomate that got saved in a UPC Church and the rest is history.

Most campgrounds have toilet facilities. The last thing they want is people doing their business wherever in the woods. LOL

We went primitive tent camping ONCE with Samantha when she was little. We haven't taken the other two kids primitive camping. We camped out on the side of a lake... fished half the night, Then it rained. The tent leaked. Never again....... :D

My idea of camping from now on is renting a fully equipped place in the mountains.

Hope y'all have fun. Make some memories... :)

You?

Working two weeks in June at church youth camp....and making use of our pool.

Other than that, we will most likely do very little during the summer. Gas is too expensive to go anywhere. We tend to do more things in the fall.....

Hoovie 05-21-2007 11:08 AM

I'll be up most of the night fending off wild beasts and ensuring my family is safe.

LOl~ Yep we use to camp all the time when kids were little, diapers and all. One time we woke up to a wet sleeping bag because my daughter who was five at the time was to scared of the outhouse....:laffatu

Get a porta potty from Walmart in the sporting goods dept.... Or you could always take the cheap way out and take a 5 gallon bucket... I'm not even going to post the other thought that I just had... :D

You are asking for trouble taking girls camping with no facilities... believe me... been there, done that.... :D

I have killed enough time... I am putting off the work that I need to be doing...

I'm gone........

HeavenlyOne 05-21-2007 11:12 AM

I plan on being in Virginia for the month of July. Fishing and swimming will be priority!

This reminds me of something I saw while driving through this campground on Saturday. Other than the fact that so many campers are so luxurious these days, which basically ruins the whole idea of getting back to nature, I saw campers with portable satellite dishes on them. DUH?? Why even leave home, if all you are going to do is camp in the lap of luxury and not even go without your satellite TV? I want to get away from that sort of stuff when I am camping, not take it with me.

Sort of depends how modern ones home is does it not?

Margies3 05-21-2007 12:43 PM

Well, let's see.......

We'll spend June going to Little League (U14) baseball games. And Emmaus Team Meetings.

In July, Justin goes to Florida for a huge youth conference the first week of July. Keith goes to church camp the second week. And I have an Emmaus 4 day weekend the third week.

August will be spent getting everybody back ready to go back to school. We head back early this year.

So much for our summer. But that's ok, because we won't be traveling far from Walt's doctors for a long, long time anyway. So if we do get to do something, it will be something close to home. And I'd rather do something close to home WITH Walt, than to be free to go anywhere we choose WITHOUT Walt. He is worth the sacrifice :heart

How long before the withdrawals set in? :bubble

Subdued 05-21-2007 12:54 PM

I will be driving my son back/forth to driver's ed, my older daughter back/forth to springboard diving lessons, and my younger daughter back/forth to swimming lessons. That should pretty much take up most of my summer.
