Santorum: We’re Better Off With Obama
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news...tch-republican
Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum told a crowd of supporters in Texas Thursday that the GOP might be better off sticking with President Obama than "taking a risk" on Mitt Romney, who he referred to as the "Etch A Sketch candidate." By NBC's Andrew Rafferty SAN ANTONIO, TX -- Rick Santorum today suggested it would be better to stick with President Obama over a candidate that might be "the Etch A Sketch candidate of the future” -- a shot at chief rival Mitt Romney. "You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who’s just going to be a little different than the person in there," said Santorum. "If you’re going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate of the future.” |

Re: Santorum: We’re Better Off With Obama
Saw the article, but not that quote... What he actually said was different.
Rick Santorum has clearly and repeatedly stated that he will support the nominee. |

I get the point too PO.
It's not so much what he said... but he did not say "We’re Better Off With Obama" as some have reported. |

The point is there is not much difference between policies like Romneycare and ObamaCare. |

Santorum clarifying yesterday's comments "I would never vote for Barack Obama over any Republican and to suggest otherwise is preposterous," Santorum said, adding that he was "simply making the point that there is a huge enthusiasm gap around Mitt Romney."
I have repeatedly heard Santorum and the other candidates (Ron Paul has squirmed some on this) agree that they will support the nominee. |

"What he was talking about was that they're just so similar. You've got to have differences to motivate people to vote," Santorum spokesman Hogan Gidley told Yahoo News. "If there's virtually no difference between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, chances are they won't go out and vote." I think people get that, unless they simply just want to make something out of nothing. |

Santorum has majorly out performed expectations in the last few months, and continues to do so. He will likely take Louisiana on Sat. And other, larger states (like TX and PA) in coming weeks. |
