For Jay
I was spring cleaning windows one day and I had one of these nearly jump on me. This is a jumping spider. Only the one that nearly jumped on me was black in color with a purple spot on it. Hard to kill them.
http://i1014.photobucket.com/albums/...pider-1678.jpg I share your horror of spiders. |

Re: For Jay
You were ready with the Raid for them spiders, weren't you? :lol
When my neighbor was alive, she would have me to water her outside plants for her when she took a trip. I was sticking my hand in the water meter box to turn the water on and off not knowing that there was a black widow spider in there. No big deal though...the water department has pictures of snakes nesting in the meter holes because it is damp and cool. I'm glad I did not encounter one of those. |
Re: For Jay
Now that is something I would shoot.

I have had long term arachnophobia since I was a small child. I have discovered that a nice strong dose of Raid, Black Flag, etc. is an excellent treatment for the sudden onset. The worst spider incident that I had was in the church by the bathroom. There was a large gray spider sitting there at the door way. I promptly fetched and hit him with the poison gas. He did not immediately react but rather started running away. Once I had him looking snowed on, he finally started to show reaction. I had to keep spraying him for a while to make sure that he actually died as he would seemingly start to recover after a short time. I would rather deal with a serpent to a spider any day. |

AYR... we have to add it to the list: Girl who can kill spiders without flinching. Put it near the top. |

Re: For Jay
I think Jay went to Mattopia which is over run with venomous spiders, but we should still help him find a wife since there are no women there.
Or come to think of it perhaps Mattopia has already been destroyed... have not heard from Matt in a while. Of course there are NO venomous spiders on Titusville, only pretty Orbweavers or Auraneus Cavaticus like Charlotte. Maybe we should send Jay a copy of Charlotte's Web to help him find his inner arachnid. |
Re: For Jay
Ya think Matt self-destructed in Mattopia in his quest for war?

I fear he may have touched the dome. :( |
Re: For Jay
Well...he was warned about the dome. Perhaps if he had requested to come in peace, he might have been appealing to the women of Titusville.

I read Charlotte's Web when I was growing up. She was the only spider who I had no problem with. I have not received any communication from Mattopia for a while and have wondered what happened. I would not mind visiting, and I would be certain to have an ample supply of poisons. I wish him luck. Quote:

The "starting from scratch" thread is spreading. Sweeeet.

I thought that was me (trying maximize my population in a hurry). I could be mistaken. However, I never did threaten to impose my world view on Mattopia or Titusville (even though I did have 11 Star Destroyers, 1 Superstar Destroyer, 1 Death Star, and several TIE Fighters). I know better than to attempt to invade a world ruled by women (oops that would be all worlds). Quote:
I see that the plague is spreading. |

I want the safest and happiest of worlds to be the one that I rule. That is why I rule alone (I have two who are constantly seeking my tender loving care and generosity). At least I did not say that I wanted them to be mothers of thousands of millions. |

Great baby story AYR.
Maybe the men of Jay's planet should just get :dogkiss |

Re: For Jay
That was funny, AYR. I loved the story. I was told that I needed to work down at the TCM in Mississppi. I have given some thought to that idea, but have not ever attempted to check into it.

Re: For Jay
It's quite a place, Jay. It is a ministry for those who work there because many of those kids are damaged goods. With good nurturing, love and prayer, many go on to live happy lives and go into the ministry themselves.

It is on my list of places to visit one day should the Lord tarry and grant me the opportunity. I would love to see it with my own eyes. I have always been impressed with the behavior of the young people I have seen from the Mansion. (I thought it amusing that you knew exactly what I refered to with out having to question it. I need to get out more.) |
Re: For Jay
That's because I live in the Region. Everybody here knows what TCM is. I also had the pleasure of interacting with them when, before they built their own church building, they attended the same Pentecostal church I attended. Are they perfect? No. There are some horror stories administered by past workers. But that cannot be charged to the TCM ministry. They did what they could do to remove the offenders. I understand that the current leadership are good people. (That is not saying that past leadership was not good)
Also, my neighbor's family was instrumental in the founding of TCM. There is an interesting story here as to why they are no longer involved, but still loves TCM. If you decide to visit, let me know and my husband and I will treat you to dinner. |

Lord being willing, I will probably take that trip in the next couple of years. I have long wanted to see that area but have lived too far away. I am praying that God will give me the finances to do more traveling the way that I really wish to do. I will take you up on that dinner offer whenever I get down that way. :D |
Re: For Jay
Ok. I am holding you to it.
P.S. There are plenty of single ladies down here. |
Re: For Jay
I have met a number of nice Southern girls (why they came North has me bewildered) and would be very happy to have one from your state. However, I have commitments for this year. I will look to see what I can do to head your way next year (unless God intervenes to get me there sooner).

I love here because I love the more mild winters. I am from northern Indiana originally but have spent more of my life here than there. The downside of here is the bugs and the extremely hot and humid summers. Yet, even then there is a feeling of beauty in the nature of the seasons here. |

Heat and humidity I would gladly bear to be away from cold and snow. As for insects and others, that is where the insect poison/repellant come in. You must enlighten me as to why Southern girls want to move North at some point. (I spent nearly 8 years in Texas and consider myself to be Southerner at heart). |
