Hate crime laws...
...are STUPID!
Why is there a need for a more severe sentence for hate crimes? Hating a person because of their skin color or sexual orientation is an ignorant bliss. But, I do remember a day in America where idiots had the right to have their own opinions. A stiffer sentence infringes on a persons right to be an idiot, and I doubt that the laws are an effective crime deterrant. -Simpleton |

You receive no argument from the Conservative Corner. I just wish that all others agreed with us on the issue.

Hmm, I've heard a couple other "We All Need To..."
and note that all "they" are really worried about is a united "Us"... |

I agree.
Hate crime laws are historically geared toward a certain group of people who seek certain extra protection. Unfortunately, when the extra protection is granted, in most cases it reveals that not all are created equally with equal protection under the law. |
Re: Hate crime laws...
Hate crime laws are themselves a form of discrimination.

I think that this brings everything into triplicate. :highfive I agree with both of you. Sadly we are equal under the law, but we have developed a belief that some are more equal than others. This is an overturning of our most basic civil doctrines, traditions, and legal structure. |

The only defense against...anything, hate crime laws, is a united body that refuses to lay down. Therefore, it is in the best interests of "them" to erect obstacles to this, which is a pretty good description of our current state of affairs. I think "Hate Crime Laws" is just a symptom, and I would address the disease, which is splinters. Lol, ya that helped...maybe I'll try again later : ) |
Re: Hate crime laws...
you mean if the president takes an anti-christian stand we can charge him with a hate crime.:heeheehee

If he (or anyone of his ilk) takes a "pro" Christian stand, recog a probable manip. Santorum (is he the religious one?) should be viewed as possibly the most dangerous candidate. |

I believe that I have apprehended the content in your dissertation. I would also be inclined to be in accord with it. |
