Will We Really Reunite With Loved Ones In Heaven?

Hello,

It's been a while since I last posted on this forum. I'm sure many of you missed me, and perhaps went countless nights without meal, fasting that I soon would return. Your fasting and much supplications have been answered, I've returned for a little while. I've come to set this forum in order! Hereafter I must travel to Macedonia, Jerusalem, and to the donut shop for a chocolate old fashion donut (sue me).

I've heard many say, "I' can't wait to enter heaven and see all my family members." I've also heard others say, "when we're all raptured, I'll see my family, friends, Peter, etc." I've actually took time and thought about their comments and asked myself a few questions.

1) Out of millions of people that will be there, how will I locate my loved ones? HOW?
2) Will Jesus snap His fingers and reunite all families? (heaven's purpose isn't to reunite families though)
3) Will heaven have a yellow pages directory?
4) Will we really remember our loved ones, and how will we know that they made it without rememberance if they didn't make it?
5) Will we really find our family members out of millions upon millions of people, or is our family recognizable relationship officially over at death? (sad face icon here)

Ha, is that Rapture heresy still going around?
1) It would be misrepresenting Scripture to imply that Heaven is a "there," a place. There is no place called Heaven. "Heaven" is best translated "Wherever God is." Scripture clearly indicates that earth, and not Heaven, is a believer's final resting place; reflected in "the meek shall inherit the earth," "on earth as it is in Heaven," etc.
2) No, Christ already gave a sermon on this subject, wherein He indicated that the earthly fam you came in to is just that, and your real family is the body of believers.
3) No, there are no businesses in Heaven; it is strictly white pages. No ads.
4) See 2
6) See 5

Heaven is a perfect place, there will be no sorrow.
Keep that in mind and everything will just be fine.

Don't worry about hair, long skirts and all that other stuff!
We will have new bodies, we are all going to be perfect and Christ like....that means 33 years old!

"Can the believing husband in Heaven be happy with his unbelieving wife in Hell? Can the believing father in Heaven be happy with his unbelieving children in Hell? Can the loving wife in Heaven be happy with her unbelieving husband in Hell? I tell you, yea! Such will be their sense of justice that it will increase rather than diminish their bliss."

There is no place called Heaven, and you aren't going there anyway-
don't let some misguided preacher tell you any different.

If you worry about long hair and skirts now, I'm guessing
it's because you are listening to the same guys
that told you you were going to spend eternity in Heaven.
Never mind what the Bible says, I guess?

Heh. Men will be wearing garments pertaining to women. Wait! No! it will be women wearing garments pertaining to men. :huh

Ah! No...we will be wearing unisex garments because we will be as the angels.

They will not know about it because heaven is without sorrow.
In hell they will know about it and they will be gnashing their teeth at the people who got them there.

And.....there's no sex in heaven....so....there's no reason to be naked.
We have new bodies without sex organs. Lol. Great place!!

If it's Eden restored, why would we not be naked? Seriously, I think the robes are just until we get checked in.

Personally, I would be in awe wearing a flowing, brilliant white robe. It probably will shimmer from the glow of Jesus when next to Him.

Nekkid bodies would never compare to a brilliant white robe.

Just my thoughts here...

Re: Will We Really Reunite With Loved Ones In Heav

Just thought about that old song

In my robe of white
I will fly away
To a land so fair,
meet my Jesus there.
It will be so grand,
when i get to that land,
in my robe of white
I will fly away.

Somebody fire up the music!

Or do we need to drink it here?

Aren't we clothed with our righteous acts...maybe the wrong term, but something like that? And we are clear that that "tarrying for a while" is prolly all the time anyone spends in...Heaven, right? I think one only gets as far as Paradise, anyway...

While there is much to admire JE for, his view of the saved being blessed by the knowledge of the "lost" in a custom torture chamber is not one of them!!!

Blasphemeous, it is in my studied opinion.

There is so much confusion, about the life to come, because of the traditional distortion of God and His purpose. This life and its good and evil serves God's purpose of the completion of his creation. Do you really believe that the Creator in all His wisdom, knowledge, creative ability, power and love, could not do better than the twisted and distorted ideas created by the ego, power hungry, minds of men???

Primarily, in the context of the Roman State Church, which traditional religionists have been unable move beyond???

Amen; I hang out here just waiting for a real conversation to start, lol. Heaven and hell are right next to each other, in nowhere, ok? You can have conversations with each other, one in..."Heaven," we'll go with, for now, the other in hell; you will both be in the same space. Your black-and-white heaven-and-hell is not supported in Scripture.

What about the marriage supper of the lamb?

The older I get, the more I just want to believe God and leave the rest of what will become of me to Him.

If everything is completely honest and true... How many married couples do you think will really even want to see each other again?

What's become of this place? It's a cesspool now! Nobody here has any interesting opinions to contribute? It seems a fortune cookie has greater substance to offer and ponder on than this place.

Reminds me of a joke (you've probably heard before).

A man and his wife were in a terrible car accident. The woman, sadly, is killed instantly. She finds herself walking up to the pearly gates, where she finds Peter, standing watch. He tells her there is one tiny requirement before she can enter heaven. She just has to spell a word. She asks Peter, "What word?" "Any word of your choosing," he replied. "Oh, OK. 'Cat'. C, A, T." Peter says "In you go! But if you don't mind, would you watch the gate for just a little while? I have to, you know, take a break. You know how it works. Will you, please?" She agrees.

After a minute, her husband succumbs to his injuries, and shows up at the gate! She tells him the rules. "You have to spell a word, before you can get in to heaven." He asks his wife, "What word?" She says, "Chrysanthemum".

Well, I'm not sure it's that bad...Timmy just brought up a good point? He seems to think that free will will be suspended or something, in eternity? Prolly he would say "when you are in Heaven."

What do you think?

Or, you are allowed to, um, broach subjects (other than cesspools)
all by yourself? Don't be scared! I mean a negative comment on a negative? Lol

An oldie but a goodie.

Are we really ready to talk about free will yet; how you will always have it, and what that might say about your "going to Heaven," etc? What if you, um, ok, "went to Heaven," and sinned, ifthat model is correct? Free will on hold? Turned into an angel (they have no free will)?

What say you, fellow cess-poolers?

Did angels have free will once and only once, when each made a choice to follow Lucifer or not?

No, this is a common mis-conception, that the ability to choose = "free will."
Grace does not apply to angels; there is a sense in which they are...slaves, might be a good way to put it, on the run anyway.
