GIVE ME A BREAK! Romney's HS Prank? Really?
 

Obama's past gets a pass: friends with convicted terrorists, goes to church for 20 years under the leadership of a racist, unpatriotic pastor, admits to doing drugs and cocaine and the MSM barely touches it.

A high school prank, from 40+ years ago committed by Mitt Romney is big news this morning. And the segment I watched on ABC this morning was pathetic. The reporter, when asked if Romney's apology was enough said, he didn't this was going to go away, that Romney need to do something more substantial.

Maybe he ought to endorse gay marriage so that he can garner the affection and adulation of the east coast liberal media elites.

Probably the real issue is that they have been looking for something to break through his plastic persona. It's all downhill from there.

Whether the prank was "gay bashing" or not, I don't believe Romney doesn't remember. He either didn't do it (in which case he should have denied it completely) or he did it and he remembers and he's lying about it. I don't believe for a SECOND that he helped hold someone down and cut their hair off and doesn't remember doing it. Unless you were drunk or high at the time, you would remember doing something like that. :foottap

I'm way less concerned with the fact that he played a prank on someone in high school and more concerned with the fact that he's probably lying about it. Why lie? Admit you did something stupid (and mean) and move on.

on the subject of memory. the guy who allegedly got his hair cut is now dead.
his family doesnt remember this happening either... no one really does.

the one person quoted as being bothered by the incident for the last 40 years per the WaPo didnt even find out about it until a couple of months ago when WaPo called asking for a quote...

so i guess no one thought it was a big deal... if it even happened.

I think it happened or Romney would have said point blank, "No way! That NEVER happened."

I'm not overly concerned about a teenage prank, but the fact that the alleged "victim" never mentioned it doesn't mean it wasn't a big deal. Lots of people keep negative or even traumatic experiences to themselves.
