SmugMug

Well, this is phase one of my new business I have been spending the better part of a year working on. I am doing some serious photography for senior citizens and using Smugmug to display and sell them on. I don't have any actual senior portraits yet but take a look at what I have so far. :)

Very nice! I'm sure you will do really well
with the seniors! There is no doubt that
you take great pics! :)

This is one of my favorites.

While not the most professional looking I really like this one as well because of the story behind it. We went on a small cruise to see the coast line on Kauai and he was one of the deck hands. He offered to snap our picture and while he was doing that I held my own camera in front of me and sneaked off one of my own -of him.

One thing I like about this site are the in depth stats it gives me about those who are viewing individual photos. Not only does it tell me that someone looked at it but it tells me their PC operating system, the state they are in, their sex, age, and what they happen to be wearing at the time they are viewing.

I viewed. Did it tell you I was viewing while wearing my socks?

Oh, I tend to avert my eyes when it comes to those stats. :)

I've recently gotten into photography myself, and just submitted a photo to a local newspaper of an old railroad bridge here in our area. The newspaper was looking for "best shot photos". I don't have the most awesome camera ever, but I love playing around with the aperture and light settings.

Well, I know people who have taken some of my older camera's and taken photos with them that I would not have thought possible. So there is a lot to be said about the photographer being the most important element.

That being said it is very important to know your camera inside out, upside down, and back and forth. I tend to always shoot in aperture mode where I manually control the f stop but will go into shutter speed mode when I am using my external flash (which I use quite a bit). I am also constantly changing the ISO -usually switching between 100 and 800/1600 (rarely use 200 or 400) and occasionally going all the way up to 6400.

Ya, on another photography site that is my highest rated picture. LOL
I like pictures (even if somewhat doctored) that stand out from all the many sunset, sunrise, and flower pics.

Great photos!

Let me save you the trouble. Windows 7, Texas, Female, 49, old flannel gown with a hole in it and flip-flops... because my wonderful husband is working and my cows do not care what I look like as long as I show up at milking time with their treats! :)

Just visited Sea World in San Diego for the first time. It's about a 5 hour drive from Phoenix so we actually went there and came home the same day.

We watched a dolphin show from what turned out to be the best view in the house! We walked up a small path and looked over the wall and found ourselves right behind the trainers as they fed and directed the dolphins.

Randy, I'm just curious, but how does it know this? Through the PC camera?

Yes, it automatically turns on whatever web cam you happen to have plugged in or installed if your using a laptop and then compares a facial snapshot to anyone of several major world wide databases using facial recognition.

I also have a wonderful (cheap!) bridge to sell you in San Fransisco......

If I was standing right next to you, I'd shake it out of you.:dogkiss
