One of the things I noticed in this surveillance footage is how calm and deliberate the gentleman was as he starting shooting at the thugs. He was not a loose canon firing blindly. I would hang around him any day. :)

That is how concealed carry lowers violent crime.

Exactly. Note how I didn't go running after them firing blindly once they left the building. His MAIN focus the whole time was ending the threat for himself and the other patrons and securing the room.

Key line in that article, "we didn't expect anyone to be armed" that is why they robbed the place. And then have the nerve to complain about the guy shooting at him when he fell down.

On another note, their non life threatening injuries is why no one should ever carry a toy like a .380 for protection.

I found one in an attic, I and gave it away, useless if you need to seriously disable someone intent on killing you.

Exactly. Some have this false idea that you need to "shoot to injure" which is a completely wrong way of thinking. You have to assume that every time you pull the trigger it will kill. This is why a 9mm is the absolute smallest caliber one should have on them. A .45 is better BUT either the gun will be too big for conceal carry or it will be small enough but will absolutely kill your hand when firing.

Good for him! He is a model for effective self defense.

I carry a S&W 38 hamerless snubby in a bra holster. First 2 are frangable ammo followed by gold dots. I also carry a Baretta pocket pistol as backup (do not ask where unless you really want to know). With the right type of ammo smaller caliber guns can be of some use. :)

I use Hornady hollow point self defense rounds for my 9mm but was slightly shocked to see that they also make a self defense round in .22 caliber.

My husband always says shoot to kill or you will end up in prison instead of them. ;)

I am glad the old guy wasn't charged.

I use my finger concealed behind my shirt. I will just wait for you to show up if I'm ever in a bind. :)

I think I need to get my concealed handgun license for real now. Things are crazy.

I recommend it for everyone (except those who talk about being high all the time). I'm not aware of your state but even if they don't require a class to get your Conceal Carry I strongly recommend taking one or more.

I'd like to think that if I had fired at them, they wouldn't be running out the door -because they would have been unable too. :)

The punks superficial injuries is probably WHY the old guy wasn't charged.

NEVER underestimate a .22LR.

Doing so could be really bad juju.
