Martial Arts Movies

Anyone else like them? I'm not talking about movies where Chinese characters fly through the sky like fairies and float in the air like sprites but movies where their is SOME semblance of realism. Movies like Enter the Dragon or any others with Bruce Lee.

I just saw one of the BEST I've seen in a very long time! (Bought the DVD.)

The Raid Redemption.

I need to see that... I like realistic ones, but also goofy ones like Kung Fu Hustle. That's greatness.

I like them but my wife doesn't...so haven't watched too many in the last few years.

I enjoy watching Chuck Norris as Walker Ranger. We watch videos of it on Youtube. There was a couple of seasons of it that were amazing. Chuck "accepted Christ" at that time in his life and many of the Ranger TV shows talked about people coming to Jesus. Never saw a TV show get as up front about Christ as that one.

Well...being a martial artist myself...of course I like martial arts movies.....I have to admit, however, that I do like the old movies where there mouths never match the sound...I like all the Bruce Lee flicks, and i am a big fan of Jet Li..

I loved those two movies! I actually started watching them by accident one day and was hooked 10 minutes into the first one. I also loved the final fight scene at the end of the 2nd movie with the British boxer.

What I liked about Ip Man was his humility and his calm demeanor.....he went out of his way to avoid conflict.

We didn't need cable when I was a kid.

The UHF channel (channel 20 in DC) would play Kung Fu and Planet of the Apes movies every weekend!

"Fists of Fury" is my favorite Bruce Lee movie.

However, "The Shaolin Kids" is my favorite Kung Fu movie!

House of Flying Daggers was pretty awesome. (But with one glaring flaw, IMO. Won't way what, though, as it's a spoiler. ;))

OK, that IS bad. The truly scary thing is that someone -probably the director, thought it was cool!

Here is another classic.

Guess so. He has been on TBN's PTL some years back. But they'd have Lady Gaga if she'd agree to it.

I haven't seen one in forever, but the BEST martial arts movies I've seen are Kung Fu Hustle (comedy gold minus the bully scene), Ip Man 1&2 (loved them both, end of 2 was funny), and The Last Samurai. The way the samurai strove for excellence in all areas of their life and the peace Algren finally found made it a favorite. The fight where the ninjas attacked was cool.

Ip man 2, the fight on the tables...classic!

Kung Fu Hustle - Ax Gang Dance (some blood)

Anyone who hasn't seen IP Man really need to. They are both excellent and the hero is truly someone that who's character everyone should emulate.

I just heard an interesting fact about the movie The Raid: Redemption. Apparently the cost of making it was equal to 57 seconds of Transformers 3: Dark Side of the Moon. Guess which one I liked better.
