DM - you know the writer is left wing, right?
You know that the "lies" she mentions are lies, right? You know that she hates Ryan because of his abortion stance, right? And if you want to talk about Christ like attitude, where is the apology for the thread about Romney killing a woman? |
Re: Ryan Lied In His Speech
Before I read the Fox News article (DM, you're going to use a "FAUX News" article, really?) I started a thread on the MSNBC attack on this point Ryan made about the Janesville plant. The reality is although 1,250 jobs were lost in Decemeber of 2008, an additional 2,750 jobs were lost in June 2009. Obama promised his policies would save the plant. It shut down for good under his watch.

And the article I posted on the other thread shows that they layed off 1,250 people in December 2008 but that the plant wasn't shut down until June 2009 where an additional 2,750 jobs were eliminated and the factory was closed.

1. On February 13, 2008 Obama said in Janesville : “I believe that if our government is there to support you, and give you the assistance you need to re-tool and make this transition, that this plant will be here for another hundred years.” 2. In June 2008 GM announced that the Janesville plant would stop production of medium-duty trucks by the end of 2009, and stop production of large SUVs in 2010 or sooner. 3. In October 2008 Obama doubled down on his promise to keep Janesville plant open: “As president, I will lead an effort to retool plants like the GM facility in Janesville so we can build the fuel-efficient cars of tomorrow and create good-paying jobs in Wisconsin and all across America.” 4. In December 2008 GM idled production of GM SUVs at the Janesville plant. Medium-duty truck assembly continued. 5. In April 2009, four months after Obama was inaugurated, GM idled production of medium-duty trucks. 6. In September 2011, more than two years after Obama was inaugurated, GM reiterates that Janesville plant is on “stand by status.” Auto industry observer David Cole, tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel it would be premature to say the Janesville plant will never reopen. 6. Today the GM facility in Janesville still has not been retooled “so we can build the fuel-efficient cars of tomorrow and create good-paying jobs,” as Obama promised. |

The POINT of Ryan's statement remains the same, and that is that Obama implied that his administration's policies would save that plant from closing--and others like it. EVEN if they had already announced closing, if his policies had worked, they could have reversed that and rehired workers. They did not and the plant eventually closed for good. My husband worked for a company a year or more after they started lay-offs and announced their intention to close down. Yes, they knew about the intention early on and yes they started lay-offs, but they didn't close the company until over a year later--and even after that, they kept on a skeleton crew for awhile for various reasons. Are you not understanding how factories and plants manage these types of things? One reason for starting with lay-offs is the hope that reducing labor costs can buy time for some improvement and the possibility of saving a company. You can't call Ryan a liar if he said the company closed after Obama took office because that is precisely what happened. Shutting down production partially, temporarily or completely doesn't = closed. |

If DM doesn't know who Sally Kohn is, he is quite uninformed. She is as liberal and far left as you can get. Her arguments never hold up with other commentators on Fox News. She is really a "a liberal argument, waiting to happen!" Of course her and DM are both about equal! About the only time they make sense is when they close their mouth, if they do! Been Thinkin |

Well DM, what you got to say to this? Since you are such a great "fact checker" yourself, prove Michael wrong if you think you can! Good work Michael! Been Thinkin |

See, when people say "liar, liar" over and over again and "racist, racist" and "tax cuts for the rich" and "end Medicare as we know it" and "Romney has a Swiss Bank Account" and "the Republicans want dirtier air and dirtier water" and "Republicans only care about the top 1%"---if you say it enough, you don't have to respond to the truth because the masses won't believe anything you say---they will repeat what they hear without fact checking. Don't waste your time speaking the truth---if MSNBC says it, it's gospel! |
