Thad, what songs are you doing for Pentecost Sunday?
I mean, besides "I'm a Pentecostal."
:D :rockband |
haha! man you are too much.
well for starters I NEVER said we was singing that song Did I ??? I was just thinking about it Yesterday. I don't have to worry about doing too much because we are suppose to have a holyghost rally??(i think that's what you call it) with Mark Morgan(2 tape morgan:heeheehee ) and we probably wont do too much singing for sunday night. the choir sings on sunday morning. I will probably do " Rain on us" Byron cage" and i'm not sure what else right now. our pastor is not too picky lol |
what songs are you going to do GL ?
I was thinking about bringing an old one back that we haven't sung in Years. Milton Brunson's " the Holy ghost ". |

It is a good one though. I used to sing the lead on that years ago. Now you've got it running through my head.... we will probably have to do that one now. :sing |

I use to would never reach back and do old stuff. everything had to be current . Now i don't care , in fact, the old stuff sometimes works out better. |
Quote:
Yeah I have found that, sometimes, old songs are old enough to be new again. |

that's it right there! you nailed it @ "the holy ghost would be up in the rafters for a Man's voice brother. the song is in Ab and the range extends to a high Eb on peek notes |

Awwww..., I wish I would have remembered that one. We could have modernized it a bit. We doing that old mid-90's song "Power! Filled With The Spirit." We've "urbanized" it a little and it sounds great. :nod |
Isn't every Sunday Pentecost Sunday?

Hopefully, most churches have guests every Sunday. ;) If not we're not doing our job. I am taking FULL advantage of the fact that it is Pentecost Sunday. |

the churches that acknowledge Pentecost sunday usually have some type of outreach servcie or rally. the UPC makes a big push for visitors , prayer & fasting |

How can you leave something that was part of you and pretty much defined who you were and what you were about? I don't see how it could be possible .... or perhaps I'm just one of those people who has a real hard time cutting ties with something and with people where there's been a meshing and knitting together of heart and soul. |

i think we did that one in a medley for our churches' 50th anniversary sounds like you like the really old hymns |
I like to jazz them up.Usually in La the churches are mixed so you can play any flavor of music style.I love Leaning on the Everylasting Arms sung
bluesy.I miss that here. The church in Abbeville has the Randalls youngest daughter Melita for the MOM.The other lead singer is a black preacher named Joe Boudoin. He is awesome.I usually sing the same songs as he does. When he came preach for us in the past he and I got to really jam.I love the song that says.....God's got a Way! |
