Thad 05-26-2007 12:33 PM

haha! man you are too much.

well for starters I NEVER said we was singing that song Did I ???

I was just thinking about it Yesterday. I don't have to worry about doing too much because we are suppose to have a holyghost rally??(i think that's what you call it) with Mark Morgan(2 tape morgan:heeheehee )
and we probably wont do too much singing for sunday night. the choir sings on sunday morning.
I will probably do " Rain on us" Byron cage" and i'm not sure what else right now. our pastor is not too picky lol

Thad 05-26-2007 12:37 PM

what songs are you going to do GL ?

I was thinking about bringing an old one back that we haven't sung in Years. Milton Brunson's " the Holy ghost ".

Wow... it's been a long time since I have heard that song done.

It is a good one though. I used to sing the lead on that years ago.

Now you've got it running through my head.... we will probably have to do that one now.

:sing

Awwww..., I wish I would have remembered that one. We could have modernized it a bit.

We doing that old mid-90's song "Power! Filled With The Spirit." We've "urbanized" it a little and it sounds great. :nod

Felicity 05-26-2007 09:24 PM

Isn't every Sunday Pentecost Sunday?

They absolutley wore that song out at the azusa centennial celebration. I was so tired of that song by the end of the week! haha!

There use to be an old song we use to sing back in the 80s I am going to update and bring back some time. anyone remember " I have JOy, unspeakable Joy". I haven't heard that one in close to 2 decades

We have guests every Sunday and hopefully they see some signs of Pentecost when they're in our service. :)

Every Sunday is also "resurrection Sunday." I guess we should do nothing special for easter, either. :lol

Hopefully, most churches have guests every Sunday. ;) If not we're not doing our job.

I am taking FULL advantage of the fact that it is Pentecost Sunday.

Not only the UPC, several full gospel and aog churches do as well. Even the Catholic churches around here teach about Pentecost on Pentecost Sunday. Ummm, I'm sure their presentation is a little different than ours. :lol

Our ad campaign is...

CELEBRATE PENTECOST with the Pentecostals of...

I know. I understand what it's about. They had this some promotion while we were still in the UPC.

TB says I never left. I don't guess in my heart I ever really have.

How can you leave something that was part of you and pretty much defined who you were and what you were about? I don't see how it could be possible .... or perhaps I'm just one of those people who has a real hard time cutting ties with something and with people where there's been a meshing and knitting together of heart and soul.

wow now that one brings back childhood memories from the 70s
i think we did that one in a medley for our churches' 50th anniversary

sounds like you like the really old hymns

Trouvere 05-27-2007 02:07 AM

I like to jazz them up.Usually in La the churches are mixed so you can play any flavor of music style.I love Leaning on the Everylasting Arms sung
bluesy.I miss that here. The church in Abbeville has the Randalls youngest daughter Melita for the MOM.The other lead singer is a black preacher named Joe Boudoin. He is awesome.I usually sing the same songs as he does. When
he came preach for us in the past he and I got to really jam.I love the song
that says.....God's got a Way!
