Tucked Out Shirts

Should Ministers preach or teach with tucked out shirts ?
What think ye of this trend ?

I think the Bible is quite clear that ministers are to wear suits, preferably black ones, white shirts, and ties.

You know skinny ties and The Men In Black look is coming back.

Jesus wore his garment to the foot (Rev. 1:13), and I'm sure it was untucked. So, if it's good enough for Jesus then it's good enough for His ministers.

I know it's not a sin for a preacher to wear a tucked out shirt, but my mother always taught me to wear a shirt tucked in. Personally in my opinion it looks better but that is just me.

I don't care if he wears animal skins and eats honey and locusts as long as he is anointed and on fire with the Holy Spirit, judges righteous judgement, and preaches Biblical truth.

Amen. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter what one is wearing. What really matters is what's inside. Someone can dress up all they like, but with out the Spirit's anointing, it's all for nothing.

I'm not a huge fan of screaming, ranting preaching... the kind that leads to a minister throwing off his coat, pulling off his tie and pulling his shirt tails out of his pants,... But if someone is dressed more casually from the start with an un-tucked shirt... well... that's OK with me. Young people tend to be much more casual in their dress without seeing it as disrespectful.

Although I have to say that one of the biggest laughs I ever got in church was from an 'on fire' preacher who was ripping off clothing and un-tucked his shirt tails... He was not a very tall fellow but ws kind of big around and the tails were below his knees! He definitely had the Jesus look going after that! :heeheehee

Yup. I believe "untucked" is the word he was looking for.

I'm going to assume you're serious.

Does it really matter? Because when one has the spirit of God inside him, and I don't just mean having the spirit, but being FILLED with it, the Spirit will affect the way he dresses anyhow. Someone who is filled with the Holy Ghost will have their life changed. Dress code is a completely different area. Even those who are NOT spirit filled can observe a strict dress code. Whether or not they are actually going to be saved is another question.

Dress code will not save anyone. In fact, it probably helps hinder people from meeting Jesus, because they have to walk through all the red tape that we erect.

We once had an old preacher... from Tennessee who preached so hard that his teeth flew out of his mouth and landed down the center aisle..all the way from the pulpit. He just casually walked down while continuing to preach, bent down and picked up his teeth and put them in his coat pocket and never missed a beat. :heeheehee.

I don't think no one is advocating that the "dress code" is doing the saving. I agree that the Spirit will affect the way one dresses.

I wonder if it was the same fellow who spit his dentures over the pulpit in Houston... He was also kind of famous for 'pew walking' which he did in his socks. He was probably near seventy and it gave me an anxiety attack as I was waiting for him to slip and break a hip.
