Passive Christianity. That's all it is.

I'd have to agree. I'm a Romney voter (reluctantly) but I won't let down on my views that Mormonism is full of false doctrine.

Do not support paganism.

No, I don't.

Mormons think they become gods. Satan also thought he could be like the Most High.

Hmm, "gods" is not "God."
There is some support in Scripture for the first.

They become gods, plural. Each become God of their own universe.

I will support someone that shares my "values" everytime over someone in whom I share almost no common ground, even though they may call themselves Christian.

Mormons have very conservative family and social values, in these areas we can agree. On their doctrines, we can debate and argue. I believe Romney is who he presents himself to be, both in public and private. Obamas, Biden, the Clintons, John Kerry, I never felt that way with any of them, why is that?????

Franklin Graham passive???

Nonsense, it is wisdom, they are willing to remove offensive material to Mormons, as and act of goodwill and the desire to have the best man in the White House. They had that up for years, and they can put it back up later.

Right. She didn't read the article.

Now THIS is an example of Christian compromise of the worst kind!

Mormonism is as far away from mainstream Christianity as the planet Neptune is from Earth!

Doesn't matter in the least. I'm not electing the man to be my pastor, I'm electing a president.

I mean, really. If you're going to live in a Republic, and vote in a Democracy,
recognize that Jesus is not even interested in being a candidate.

Re: Got to love Politics and Religion...lol

We've had Catholic presidents. They pray to Mary, believe she is divine. They pray to dead people believing they hear them and they work on their behalf in heaven. They believe that the wine and host become the literal blood and body of Jesus in communion. They confess their sins to priests and believe they are forgiven because the priest says they are if they pray 10 Hail Marys and 5 Our Fathers. They believe the pope is the voice of Christ on the earth. They believe Peter was the first pope. The New Catechism of the RCC states plainly that Muslims are saved because they trace their faith back to the faith of their father Abraham.

Everybody was all worried about JFK being the first Catholic president. Nothing about his presidency suggests he allowed his Catholicism to play into his governance. I've voted for Pat Buchanan in primaries, a staunch Catholic. I voted for Santorum this time around, another Catholic. Both Biden and Ryan are Catholics.

I have huge issues with Catholicism theologically, as I do with Mormonism. However both Catholicism and Mormonism embrace fundamentals of traditional family, Biblical morality, religious freedom, the dignity of human life, charity and benevolence. That's enough common ground for me to elect a person to high office for me---even POTUS. Allowing Romney's Mormonism get in the way of your vote simply b/c you disagree with his theology is crazy IMO. If you held every candidate to that standard you'd never vote for 99% of the candidates out there.

And there are Mormons on the other side like Harry Reid I would never vote for---not b/c of his religion, but for his liberalism. And don't forget, Jimmy Carter was a born-again, Southern Baptist Sunday School teacher. But I'd vote for Romney ANY DAY before I'd vote for Jimmy.

Is this group a Christian group or a political group?

A group bearing the name of one of America's most prolific Christian evangelists should be ashamed to make such a compromise that ultimately, will not matter much anyway-- except to the people who are concerned with their own Christian identity as well as the Christian identity of this organization.

Really, how many "independents" are not going to rush out and vote for Romney because of their prolific and sad compromise?

I wouldn't expect Graham to include the Oneness Pentecostals as ecumenical brothers, but Mormons? OP's are more orthodox than Mormons on every day of the week!

Politics make strange bedfellows of Christians and the wicked!

If there was an argument for Christians to avoid politics, this would be it!

There is a saying...

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend".

That is true moreso as an ally, not a friend.

Allies are lumped together fighting a common foe, but that does not make them friends.

Kinda like the US and USSR in 2 WW. Allies but not friends.

Well, it's sure one good one. I just read about how they all enter office all tree-hugging, and "organic," and within a year or so that gets compromised, diluted to "GMO is good for you," etc.

I secretly think that the two, religion and politics,
will merge, and all their adherents will be
deceived into getting on the ship to Mars... :lol

houston 10-17-2012 02:30 PM

Stupid, really. BGA didn't endorse Mormonism. If you don't get that, well, you are not smarter than a 5th grader.

If Romney was OP I'd say that BGA would do the same, that is, if they wasted time posting about OP.

Well...isn't it just convenient for one day to be classified as a "cult" within that organization, then the day after a visit from the romney clan, their classification just goes "poof".

It's not necessarily gone. Just removed from visibility.
