...what you wear behind the pulpit?

Can a preacher really preach with as much "umph" as he could if he were in a suit an tie?

Are dress clothes really important in order to be used of God?

I got a question. What IS "the anointing"? is the "umph" really about some ethereal mystical invisible haze that rests on the man preaching or is it just about being a good orator and emotions?

Some might say Louis Farrakhan has "umph" when he preaches too.

Where does the bible speak of this "umph"?

Ive preached as an evangelist, as a pastor and as the church help for the last 19 yrs and Ive preached wearing any thing from jeans and t-shirt to suit and tie. In fact, when I pastored we didnt wear a suit and tie, jeans and sport coat were pretty much what my leadership team wore. My experience has been that attire made no difference, God anointed or gave His favor and people received His Spirit and were ministered to. I have also found that the individual in the pew has alot to do with anointing effecting them. If an individual shuts down or refuses the ministry of the one ministering for what ever reason including what he or she is wearing, perceived anointing is diminished.
