This Election Reminds Me

My FIL was a forman at a manufacturing plant in Memphis in the early 70's when the employees went on strike for better pay. They had formed a union and wanted the upper management and ownership to take less money and give it to them.

Management tried their best to convey to the workers that upper management was paid at a level required to keep them from bolting to another company for more money. There was no money to give them the raises they wanted! The workers continued to strike.

Finally, the company told the employees that if they didn't return to work soon, NOBODY would even have a job because the factory would be out of business and closed. The workers continued to strike anyways.

Guess what? The fool workers were out of jobs when the company was forced to close! They each had a job, but they voted themselves out of a job!

Our country may have voted itself into a deeper recession! I sure hope not!

Almost as scary as the economic situation is the thought that Joe Biden is once again a heartbeat away from the Presidency and we have to live with that thought for four more years!

The exit polling from this election clearly proved that Blacks and Hispanics did not vote on the issues. They strictly voted for a man based on the color of his skin.

blacks, latinos and 40 percent of whites. we now have 50 million anti white voters and what about romney voters? was race involved or just issues? your thinking is deluded just like the information bubble that led to a romney loss. minorities are not ignorant, but i can't say the same for working class whites that vote against their economic interests based on race.

That's also malarky. ALL of the Hispanics my husband talked to at work, and there are a bunch, said they voted against Romney because of his comments on self-deportation. Romney was stupid to mention it, mainly because he wasn't going to do anything about it anyway.

I don't get into the race area of this discussion, though I have a few friends who voted for him purely on racial grounds.

But your last statement is false and will be proven so. Obama has done nothing and his agenda will do nothing for my economic interest. Wait and see.

Although there are indeed many blacks and Latinos that voted for Obama, many of them (a segment) voted because of one single issue which had nothing to do with the economy!

To hispanics, it was mostly the self-deportation quote.
To blacks, it was revenge to the white rich guys by voting for a black man.
(I love the video when the black lady was asked at the polls which race was she most most focused on, and she answered, "black!" At least she was honest!)

I could be wrong, but it will be interesting to see the turnout of these minority segments when two white guys are running for president again. The numbers that don't show up will tell the story. I could be wrong, and maybe the issues are which party gives them the most toys. I could be wrong about that too!

Hey, I could be wrong about everything! :icecream

Obama did say this in his victory speech, "I also look forward to sitting down with Governor Romney to talk about where we can work together to move this country forward." Since they agree so much on policy, he might work with him.

Race was a huge factor. I doubt if Obama was white he would be president.

My hairdresser voted for Obama because she said that eventually there will be a single payer government insurance for those people like her who cannot afford to buy insurance.

Obama's father was a radical socialist, his grandfather had him mentored by very radical socialist. His mother was a radical socialist, anti-American and Barry is a radical socialist, his policies prove it. But he is an elitist socialist, he wants the power and the money to do exactly what he wants to do. He will leave office in four years and get filthy rich giving radical socialist speeches. Americans are gullible, he has no experience to govern a nation and no ability to lead a government, only the ability to demonize the his opposition. The Chicago political machine financed by George Soros bought themselves a president, he can speak, but he cannot lead. He is just have a great time on the American dole, acting like he really cares about all the masses that worship the idea of a commoner as president. He is not a commoner, he is an elitist. Americans, that voted for him, doesn't know who he is, and doesn't care who he is, he sounds and feels good to them.

The key word was "MEMPHIS "!

Did this have anything to do with Black, used cars, or severance pay?

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

I just had to say that finding that scripture blown up and bolded under that comment was hilariously ironic.:heeheehee

I can't imagine reading this and avoiding what the Republicans did at the Tampa Convention. You could compare it to the Soviet Politburo.

The Convention Rules Committee was pressured by Romney's lawyer, Ben Gingsberg to make dramatic changes to the party's rules on the binding of delegates. The populist and non-Establishment voices and influence were eliminated and silenced. The Minority Report filed opposition to Romney's lawyer, but the report was never delivered because the delegate, with the report, was purposely delayed on a bus and denied entry to the Tampa forum thus allowing Boehner to proceed to call a vote for what Gingsberg wanted done.

Don't give me all of this stuff about Obama, which we already know about, and shove this issue concerning the Republican shenanigans at Convention under the bus. For crying out loud. Is there anyone listening? Is there anyone that cares?

The people on the floor at Convention and even in the party just follow along with whatever the GOP says or does. We vetted the devil out of Obama. Why are we so offended to thoroughly vet our own candidate?

And isn't it ironic that this very forum has been set up to hear dissenting voices against the legalism in the UPCI. Yet, we are accepting of squashing any dissenting voice in the Republican Party because it wasn't our candidate and we don't care? We don't care how we silenced them, just do it and move on. Do we actually understand the repercussion involved in that? It just, absolutely, blows my mind.

We come here and talk about every little mistake a saint or pastor makes, but we won't do that with a political candidate because Fox News gave the okay and he sounds good on the stump. Amazing...

I am taking a break from this forum. I just can't take this for much longer. LOL!

If Herman Cain had been on the GOP ticket the demographics would not have been much different. People voted the economy as I predicted all along. Our problem is that with Obama voters the economy means something different than with conservatives. Liberals have convinced enough Americans that big government is the answer to our economic woes.

I totally believe in that structure, however, the Demos and all they stand for is dishonorable!!! But I see your point. LOL

America desired a strong economy without morality. We shall have neither morals or a vibrant economy.
