Met Jim Yohe's daughter.

Passing through the Nashville area we stopped at the Franklin area at Famous Dave's and a young lady waited on us and asked us if we were Apostolic? Thus a conversation ensued and we found out she was Jim's daughter. I certainly enjoyed meeting her. She said Vickie was coming in Tuesday.

rgcraig 05-28-2007 09:30 PM

Was it your hat that made her think you were apostolic? LOL!

Trouvere 05-28-2007 09:30 PM

That is great Brother Epley.God is so good.

I bet it was his sweet wife that looked Apostolic and then I'm sure Bro. E is very personable too.

Scott Hutchinson 05-28-2007 09:38 PM

It was the Epley's Holy Ghost that caused them to be noticed as believers.

Sis. Epley wasn't with him, just a couple young preachers from his Church.

Steve Epley 05-28-2007 09:45 PM

No women we were talking about the Lord and she asked us. I asked her where she went to church of course I knew her pastor(who is 'spiritual communion) but when she said she was Jim Yohe's daughter I was blew away. She remembered me from the forum. She was really a nice girl and so friendly we gave her an extra tip.

tv1a 05-28-2007 09:48 PM

I stand corrected... However, the fact you tipped well makes me wonder how conservative you really are.

She is at Shoulder's church at Goodletsville they are "spiritual communion" Jim and myself had a long dialogue about this on FCF. No they have NOT much of any standards there. So you could not blame her. She was very nice and friendly.

Find the site for Apostolic Brotherhood of Christians and you will find the group that Bro. Shoulders is a part of. It will shed a little more light on their teaching.

I don't see a statement of beliefs on their site.

Scott Hutchinson 05-29-2007 10:23 AM

Go to some of the churches sites and look for teachings.

Scott Hutchinson 05-29-2007 10:27 AM

Here I found something for you.

Are they anti-literal communion? .... or do they just believe there is a spiritual communion ... as well ....

I see no harm in seeing communion on a spiritual level.

They don't take literal wine and bread for a symbolic communion service.
I used to preach at a ind. Bread of Life church in Louisville,MS a few yrs.ago.

Is this really a salvational issue ....? I mean on both ends ....? Are they jeopardizing their salvation for not partaking in literal communion ? Or do they see us that do as jeopardizing our salvation?

D) All of the above

Scott Hutchinson 05-29-2007 10:38 AM

Most of the bread of life Christians I know don't see it as salvational. You can belong of The Associated Brotherhood Of Christians and observe literal symbolic communion ,as they have members that do.

Dan,

I don't see it as salvational one way or the other. I do know that Jesus said "as oft as you do this" but that raises the question... as oft as you do what... come together to eat, come together at the time of Passover celebration, or what?

Following a strict literalist view I would say that there is a requirement for celebration of the Passover supper in rememberance of the TRUE paschal lamb offered once for all.

I feel that, while it is nice to have the celebration as a public rememberance, we should be continually aware of the sacrifice of the cross and live our lives according to the rememberance of all that was accomplished there.

Looking through the site and the section on Presbyters, I found "Texas - Bishop David Fuller." Is this the same DF that was a UPC pastor in Atlanta, GA?
