Our President Lied To Us During The Campaign
During the campaign President Obama laid out his plan for increasing tax revenues. The total he said he would request was $800 billion in increased taxes. In the recent negotiations with the GOP House leadership he is demanding $1.7 trillion.
I'm afraid there's no real desire to significantly cut spending. Its all about increasing taxes. They say taxes on the wealthiest, but the wealthy don't have an additional $1.7 trillion to give. Where does he think he'll get it? Of course it will come out of our pockets. Its good to remind yourself that when government says they want something they actually will demand more. When they say they'll let go of something they will actually release less. Its also good to read the fine print before you elect someone. But of course I read that fine print back in 2008 and told you that the economy would not get better with the policies he was proposing. Curiously, many voted against their own interests for a variety of reasons, but certainly not with an understanding of how liberalism works and how it has a dismal track record. Wisdom bids us to learn the lessons of history. When we don't, we have to relive the mistakes of the past. 2013-2016 will be even tougher on the economy if this administration gets its way with fiscal policy. |

I also agree with Rand Paul, who appears to be the most consistent politician we have, that we need to lower the entitlements for the rich instead of raising their taxes.
If he continues to be consistent and steady, he will have my support in 2016. He is more politically savvy than his dad and has the advantage of learning from his dad's mistakes. I was impressed with him as he ran for Senator and Rachel Maddow tried to throw the race card against him. He stood his ground and spoke sense. That's what we need, someone who is bold enough to hold his ground. Quote:

Re: Our President Lied To Us During The Campaign
President Obama HAS NOT lied. He said that he was going to end the Bush tax cuts to the wealthiest and that is what he is going to do. The people spoke at the ballot box and that is what the majority of Americans wants also. Pres. Obama was re-elected for what he said and HE will stick by his word. If the republicans don't vote to keep the tax cuts to the other 98% before the end of the year, then the American people will SPEAK again in 2014.

Re: Our President Lied To Us During The Campaign
The Republicans also won the House in November and a majority of Americans voting for Congressmen and women stated they wanted the legislature to remain in GOP hands. And since the Congress is granted the power of the purse, one must deduce that Americans don't want taxes raised but want smart economic policies enacted. Obama wasn't the only one on the ballot Nov. 6.
He most certainly lied. Go back and watch speech after speech. Check out his words in the debates. Time and again he stated specifically he would ask for $800 billion in taxes. NOW he's asking for twice that much. Seascapes, if I told you I wanted to sell you a car for $10,000 and I told you this for several months. And then when you came to purchase the car I told you I wanted $20,000, you would say that I lied to you. Its not hard to understand. |
Re: Our President Lied To Us During The Campaign
Yeah, well he wasn't the only one who's been lying...

Re: Our President Lied To Us During The Campaign
800 billion was the republican revenue proposal. 1.6 trillion is the tax cuts expiring. name one source to support your claims.
