Gun Control

Okay, I was sick of the school shooting before I even read one article on it. Actually, I have NOT read one article on it. They are going to try and use this for gun control, I said that right off the bat to my boss. The thing is, we already have gun control. Gun control will NOT make us safe. It will not make children safe. It will make us LESS safe because the only people with guns will be police and criminals.

What if the government wanted gun control so bad that they needed an "event" to make people beg for it? They could find a half crazy person, recruit him to do their dirty work and then get on TV and cry about gun control. I think it's entirely possible. Whether or not that happened, we should not let them scare us into gun control.

What tragedy don't they try to use to push gun control?

Yeah, but this one pulls more sympathy strings.

Didn't see an actual tear? But, I do wonder how he feels when his daughters go out every day and are put in harms way. Just because their Dad is the POTUS.

I'm sure they are well guarded. Much more than the rest of us. Yes, he was probably thinking about his daughters but, I doubt he actually has much family time.

Oh yeah I know, this is the BIG break they've been wanting for years.

They ARE coming for the guns over the next couple of years. We ALL know it and Obama's second term will accelerate the left's socialist agenda. I'm just saying, why are we surprised? America voted it in last month. Be prepare for the Socialist Republic of America.

The big break happens right before the fiscal cliff. Hmmm.

The Conservative government in Canada
recently scrapped the gun registration laws that
were put in by the liberals.
Gun control or registration does not
prevent these shootings.

Gun controls never stopped criminals from obtaining guns.

Correct. And the Canadian Government
found THAT out after wasting millions of
tax payers dollars.......money that could
have been used on educating people
HOW to handle firearms.

Very true, good point. When people want to murder someone they will find a way and there will always be guns around some where in the world.

This case is clear evidence of that. He used stolen weapons...

Correct.
The marxists don't want you to have an firearm.

Same day in China a killer went into school and killed with a knife.

Guns are just one source for killing.

Guns are not the problem, people are.

Plus if you notice these shootings are mostly happening in total gun ban areas. Such as schools, post offices. The killers know there will not be an armed opposition.

AreYouReady? 12-15-2012 11:19 PM

Re: Gun Control

Have you all ever noticed that in most, but not all of these mass shooting cases, the killer always turns the gun on himself? It's almost as if the public will never know the motive of why this happened.

You don't know what you are talking about. The weapons were ALL from his household. This mentally disturbed boy was trained to shoot by his mother. He used her own weapons on her which you would think a responsible mother would have LOCKED in a gun cabinet.

He wasn't a 6 year old, he was a 20 year old. I am sure he knew where the keys were. His Mother was NOT responsible for his actions.

Yeah, he stabbed 22 children that will live with this horror for the rest of their lives. So, which is worse?

Most Gun cabinets have combination locks. This woman knew this kid was mental. Knowing his mental condition she was not a responsible person having assault type weapons where he could get to them no matter his age.

Cindy my point was not that the crime was not terrible , that the children will suffer the rest of there life, but as usual Esther's post was not accurate.

Ahh, okay. Like when mainstream media reporting at first that the older brother was the killer. Maybe our media needs to be fined for erroneous reporting.

Yeah, I am wondering why she had the need for these type of weapons. Maybe she didn't know her son was a threat, but thought someone else was. A lot of questions that are not likely to be answered.

It has nothing to do with someone feeling they have an immediate and/or specific "need" for any weapon. It is about them having a Constitutional right to have them.

Re: Gun Control

And incidentally I do believe that the law abiding have a genuine "need" for them more and more. Both against common thugs as well as tyranny

They were not his, they were his mothers. Taking something from someone without their permission and using it in a way they did not give you permission is called "stealing" so tell me how I don't know what I'm talking about again?

If a man will steal a gun from his own mother and kill her in cold blood, why won't he steal from any other law abiding citizen?
