Everyone is hating everyone else. Conservative vs. Liberal... religions hating each other... etc. Too much hate. Too many people too stupid or immature to learn to live with those who disagree with them.

The real haters are those that don't defend the helpless. And those that think one life is more valuable than another.

It's like a man named Murphy once said "There are two groups of people. Those who put people into two groups, and those who don't."

I don't know why the last few comments made me think of this......

Very offensive lango...do you feel comfortable calling fellow Christians that? Do you also make fun of mentally retarded children?

I have zilch tolerance for your kind of talk.

Just because a person does not
agree with another persons opinion,
does not mean he hates the other person.

Yes. He said we need to learn to live with those we disagree with

Well, we all know that if you disagree
with, say, the homosexual lifstyle,
you would be classified as "hating homosexuals".

I have heard it come out of Christians mouths,
not just the world.

Its not the disagreement. Its how one treats the disagreement. See DMs reply here to Republicans and the gun control issue.

You know why things are happening? Too much anger and hate

We need to focus on loving our neighbors... and helping society to do the same by setting a Christlike example.

A Christlike example=obedience to the will of God.

*smacks forehead*

God commands us to love Him with all our being... and to love others as ourselves.

Re: Stop the Hate:

I find it interesting that Jesus confronts the Pharisees and religionists with very strong language (to their faces)... but speaks conversationally, and with respect, to a woman who had had five husbands and was currently shacking up with a man who wasn't her husband. He revealed His messianic identity to her... and used her witness to reach her community.

Most today would have praised the Pharisees on their "righteousness" and condemned the "shack up honey".

He also says if you love him you'll follow his commandments. Or are we picking and choosing which part of love best fits in with the conversation cause I'm lost.

Here's the problem with that Bro. Trial... What are His commandments???
Is it the Ten Commandments (Law of God)?

Is it the Ten Commandments (Law of God) and the Law of Moses?

Is it the Ten Commandments and various commandments from the Law of Moses?

Is it the Ten Commandments, the Law of Moses (or various laws of Moses), plus various NT commandments? Which NT commandments come into play?

Is it the Ten Commandments, the Law of Moses (or various portions), plus various NT commandments, plus our church standards or pastoral standards???
Merely saying that we must follow God's commandments is a very ambiguous statement that leaves us on a sea of relativism.

I take it to be this... Jesus said that the entire law is summed up in two commandments... Love God with all our being... and love our neighbor as ourselves. It's basic, very basic. It's clean, very clean. It's ethical, very ethical. It's not legalistic, it's very grace centered.

God's commandments???
Love God.
Love others as yourself.
Weren't these two commandments essentially all that the Law was attempting to clarify for the Hebrew people in their time and culture???

These two laws are quick... simple... and to the point.

Gal 5:14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Gal 5:15 But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.
Gal 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

If you love God, you despise sin. If you love your neighbor you'd love them enough to tell them the truth in love.
