Is TB now pastoring a church across town with Elvis, Jimmy Hoffa, and Andrew Urshan all attend?

Is it true that his wife has 500 pairs of shoes and looks like Ismelda Marcos?

I heard that he is opening a Bible College there in Memphis, called TB Honorary School for Theology and Marriage!

Is it true that all JCM alumni are automatically considered as members of the new college, but only if they are straight, the other is sin and cannot have sin in the new college!

Now...about that 'accountability'......

In recent years, we had a stinky situation here in the INDy area, and a Pastor was put under the 'accountability clause' (MY phraseology- NOT UPCI terminology). He was accountable to his DS, and a few other Godly Leaders, (at least that was the word on the street). His church books were kept by a third party that was not directly involved with said church. All of this accountability was put in place, so that this Pastor could continue to lead his local assembly and win the lost. At any cost. several years pass...guess what? The process failed. Guess who lost? Everyone. The saints, the ex- Pastor, and the community that was on the outside, looking in. I see the argument for accountability- but, there has to be a minimal level of trust afforded to men of God, right? Are we going to ask them to account for every dime spent? I'm ignorant on such things, and just have to wonder, how in depth does this accountability need to be?? Not arguing against- just wanting to learn more about this idea, that seems so foreign to me, but evidently a necessary evil in the church world today....

Live simple.
Love your wife/husband.
Fear God.
Obey His commandments.
You have no idea how long you will be walking this earth for your soul can be required of thee at any given moment.
When this moment happens, you will be standing before God giving accountability for the things you have done.

How's that for accountability?

What a concept.

This is how I have been taught and raised all of my life...apparently, this is flawed teaching nowadays...

Financial accountability for the pastor is an easy one. He has a set salary, and does not write any checks for the church.

Financial accountability for the church should include full disclosure of all income & expenses with regular outside audits by a third party CPA.

This is how the churches that I attended all operated. The Pastor wrote no checks, and the ones that the Treasurer wrote, required two signatures. We had outside CPA's and held regular annual business meetings. Also, the church finances were an 'open book' to any saint that had questions...it wasn't until later years, that I heard of the new pastor balking at showing the books to any lay member, and his family handled all financial transactions. I wouldn't want all that responsibility on MY shoulders
..

Maybe it isn't taught today because the teachers do not want to practice this themselves.

The church I went to had a financial meeting when someone asked the pastor what his salary was. He was a 'keep all the tithe' pastor. He actually told the people it was none of their business. The church split when the cat came out of the bag that he was dipping into the building fund for a Disneyworld vacation for himself and his family.

In all seriousness, is there ANY way that I can set my font and never have to change it?

Hoov,

By "set salary"... do you mean an actual set dollar figure annual salary?? Or do you mean a set percentage of the congregation's donations?

How do you feel about this "pastors-keep-all-tithes-for-themselves-as-salary" philosophy that I keep hearing about?

I'm not sure about this; maybe a set $$$ amount, or a certain percentage of what comes in weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly; at a base rate if you have a low week-just brainstorming?????
