Anyone Ever Heard of these Folks?

So I finally found out exactly WHICH lunatic church some of my close relatives are faithful members of, after years of them not telling me exactly what church they attend just telling me "church of God", which I knew wasn't Cleveland, Tennessee because I would've been okay with that at least.:heeheehee

http://usa.watv.org/

World Mission Society Church of God

I've run into some crazy religions, this one takes the cake. Apparently it's a growing faith in the US, it has about 1.6 million members worldwide.

Major beliefs are:

1. That man and women were created in the image of God the Father and God the Mother, more commonly known as "the mother God" or "the Heavenly Mother".

2. The man who started the church in Korea many decades ago known as "Ahnsahnhong" is the second coming of Christ (he died many years ago in the 70s), and is the embodiment of the Holy Spirit hence they baptize in the Name of the Father (Jehovah), Name of the Son (Jesus), Name of the Holy Spirit (Ahnsahnhong).

3. Humans are truly demons who fell from Heaven and sinned, sometimes unknowingly but were cast down by accident almost. Our only way to salvation is to worship the "mother God," worship on the sabbath, celebrate the feasts, and to be baptized in the name of Ahnsahnhong.

4. Christmas, Easter, all holidays, and birthdays are all pagan holidays. The cross is a pagan symbol. The Holy Spirit is a man, not a spirit. The trinity are not just separate persons, they are separate gods.

5. The "mother god" is embodied by Ahnsahnhong's wife who lead the church after his death.

6. They teach women ought to wear veils. Not sure about magic hair doctrine, however I'd be shocked if they didn't teach it.:happydance

I watched a video on youtube of a young lady who was victimized and tricked into being baptized at the church (they never told her they worship Ahnsahnhong as God) and when she found out she broke down and repented. It disgusted me. Has anyone had any experience with this group? They're fairly new to the United States.

Confused people..

“But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.” (Galatians 4:26)

Jerusalem, the source of the living water, is God the Mother
who gives eternal life to all human beings, with the words of life.
The New Jerusalem Temple where God the Mother, who has come
in the flesh to save all human beings dwells, is the central Church
of the World Mission Society Church of God.

Yeah CC1 keep my family in your prayers.

When I discovered the website, and learned what they taught and the scope of their influence, I didn't know exactly how to respond. I have serious concern for their souls and the souls involved, but some of it is so ridiculous its almost funny, like it can't possibly exist. I had a hard time figuring out whether I should cry or laugh, and I did quite a bit of both.:heeheehee

Wow! I will be praying for your family TrialedByFire! How sad that they are mixed up in something as contrary to God's word as this! It seems they've taken a mixture of error from major religious groups, and mixed it all together! Crazy!

That is exactly what happens sometimes, at least that is how Scientology started. LOL

Ahnsahnhong was raised Bhuddist. He converted to Seventh Day Adventism before he began his "ministry" which ended up establishing WMSCOG. It seems to me he was familiar with pagan principles and ideas and simply mixed them in with Sabbatarian Christianity.

Thank you for your prayers. This group has torn families apart before I'm hearing.

Who knows... Perhaps Mr. Ahnsahnhong DID find the true religion (I doubt it myself, but I am sure his followers would argue the point).

All religions that turn into cults display many of the same signs, and one of the signs being the isolation from family and friends. Not uncommon at all in a typical cultic religion.

People think "they" have it all figured out. I believe that we all see through the glass darkly.

We are to look for fruits of love in the lives of people who call themselves Christian.

For if one spends enough time in the presence of Almighty God, the fruit of love will be pouring out of your life.

If there are no fruits of love, but only bitterness, hatred, pride, arrogance, self will... etc... then I don't have to listen to a thing you say to me about salvation.

For if any of us want to truly speak about salvation, we must first demonstrate the love of Christ in our lives, by loving Christ, and loving one another.

Remember, it was Christ who said to us... "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." John 13:35

This is frightening TBF. So many souls caught up in false religions. :(

Gee, kinda reminds me of the last apostolic church I belonged too (unwillingly, but then again I wasn't 18 yet).

Now H Gang, it seems I have heard that before! Right? Aren't you going to give credit to Bro. R?
