Another tiny Argument for Women Preachers

Jesus is the husband of his bride(church) If we believe that we are one with God, then when we speak within the church it is the husband(Jesus) who speaks through us isn't it? The church is the body of believers and not an actual building.(where three are gathered in my name, there am I also--church?)

As christians we are no longer an "I" but a we, with Jesus as the head. God has no respect of persons and can, will and does speak through whom he choses regardless of race, sex or color. Isn't women submit to their husbands an example that all the bride submit to God? Eve was created for Adam as the bride is for the husband. We are all female(bride) in the eyes of Jesus--we submit only to Him.
No respect of persons---Romans 2:11--Colossians 3:11 and 3:25--**Galatians 3:28--Ephesians 6:9--1 Peter 1:17--Genesis 1:27

If everyone is responsible for themselves (own sins) and there is no respect of persons according to God. Then shouldn't all who know the truth be sharing their faith. (preaching and teaching)--There were prophetesses--(higher rank than preacher and teacher) 1 Corinthians--12:28 --and this is a list according to rank.

I know that it says both things in the New Testament--but it's always one person that has said both things--(Paul)--Why? I think because of the traditions of the age that Paul misunderstood what God was telling Him.

I agree and have sat under a few wonderful preachers such as Thetus Tenny, (in her day) Nona Freeman, Vesta Mangum who was a frequant preacher for our Ladies Retreats....and as Sis A reminded me of, Agnus Holmes. However, as for some of my family (men) will not sit under a woman speaker/preacher. I can not answer for them or wont even debate this with them or anyone else....its not for me to judge~

I will say this I will receive from a Sister in the Lord. I can be taught and have been taught by some mighty women of God in Oneness and out of Oneness but I will not sit under them in the role as my pastor. Preacher and teacher yes, my Pastor no.

I'm not going to get into this discussion any more than to this...if one of the points you're using to support your main idea is that "Paul misunderstood what God was telling him" when he was writing the epistles, you might want to re-think your position on the matter. That logic implies that you know more about the will of God than the man God inspired to write 2/3 of the New Testament and called to be the Apostle to the Gentiles. That's pretty shaky ground.

I wish there were thousands and thosands and thousands...

Dear Friends in the Homeland:

For two nights I have had the same dream…standing by a big river with my son Arlei and an Indian gazing to the far other side. My question was, “are there people on the other side”? The Indian said, “Yes”, I walked into the water and my son said, “Mother, it is deep”. The Indian said she can make it ….I started across knowing it was the thing to do…. in search for souls….

My whole life has been involved in reaching the lost for our lord and bringing His lost children back to the fold.

I feel overwhelmed at the task that lies before us.

I think of the old hymn…sang long ago….

A hundred thousand souls a day Are passing one by one away In Christless guilt and gloom; Without one ray of hope or light, With future dark as endless night, They’re passing to their doom, They’re passing to their doom.
Refrain
They’re passing, passing fast away In thousands day by day; They’re passing to their doom, They’re passing to their doom.
O Holy Ghost, Thy people move, Baptize their hearts with faith and love And consecrate their gold. At Jesus’ feet their millions pour, And all their ranks unite once more, As in the days of old, As in the days of old.
Refrain
The Master’s coming draweth near; The Son of Man will soon appear; His kingdom is at hand. But ere that glorious day can be, This gospel of the kingdom we Must preach in every land, Must preach in every land.
Refrain
Oh, let us then His coming haste,
Oh, let us end this awful waste Of souls that never die. A thousand millions still are lost; A Savior’s blood has paid the cost,
Oh, hear their dying cry,
Oh, hear their dying cry.
Refrain
They’re passing, passing, fast away, A hundred thousand souls a day In Christless guilt and gloom.
O Church of Christ, what wilt thou say When, in the awful judgment day, They charge thee with their doom, They charge thee with their doom? (James H. Burke)

This song says it better than I ever could! Where He is leading I do not know…what He is showing me I do not know but one thing I do know. When the time comes whatever it may mean…whatever it may cost we stand ready to march at His orders.

Weep for the lost my friends....don't waste your time fighting over who takes the message....

King James Version (KJV)

7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Please allow me to play the devil’s advocate for a moment. I am NOT giving my personal opinion, so please do not take this the wrong way, it is merely for discussion purposes.

1Co 14:34 Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says.

1Co 14:35 And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church.

1Ti 2:11 Let a woman learn in silence with all submission.
1Ti 2:12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.

I have much respect for women of God. My personal preference is to have a man pastor. Why, I don't know. Nothing biblical - just preference.

The flaw in your thinking here (at least at it relates to the modern church) is that if you REALLY believed these scriptures, you wouldn't allow women to sing in the choir, or teach Sunday School.

It's either all or nothing.

There is A LOT more that's different in the modern church than in the churches that were documented in the book of Acts.

You presented a strawman fallacy. Again, I am only playing the devils advocate. You did not give an opinion of the verses other than you appear to disagree with them.

If these words of the Apostle Paul are to be ignored by modern Church, what other verses should be ignored? Do we get in the habit of picking and choosing what verses we like and the ones we don’t?
