TBN
Watching a "Behind The Scenes" program in Russia, I can't help but be touched by some of the testimonies from other countries, Muslim countries, where people are being reached. I'm not a huge fan of TBN, but I can't criticize it either.
Anybody else have thoughts? |
Re: TBN
If God used a donkey to talk to Balaam....
Seriously, I don't have any confidence in the Crouches, or a lot of people on TBN, or in religious broadcasting in general. It attracts people with egos who want to exalt the flesh. In spite of that, sometimes Christ is preached in the midst of all the self-promotion, and even if the motives aren't pure, the Word produces fruit. |

I have to say it. NO FREAKING WAY would I put my soul in the hands of THOSE pink haired witch wannabes!! The daughter in law is patterning herself after the Ol mama- even startin to talk like her. The nauseatingly pink hairdo is next for her as well, I suppose? Blecccchhh. What a hoot.I would rather send my money to some struggling minister reaching out to the homeless and the drunkards and the prostitutes and the druggies, out of a store front in downtown Indy. BTW- I have a good friend and her hubby who are doing JUST THAT. God bless them. No daddy handed him a 'legacy'...His heavenly Father is sure blessin him, tho!! |

Widespread corruption. Plentiful false doctrine. Some people mat start their walk there. I dont see how they could go forward staying among them. Yet they are just one of many, many similar groups.

Re: TBN
Not really into the "pentecostal-tacki" spectacle that is TBN but I would tune in to see Irvin Baxter or TFT. Whats up with the pink hair any way?
|
Re: TBN
I only tune in if I know a certain singer will be on. The pink hair is like a Dolly Parton wannabe.
|
Re: TBN
It's no longer on our cable tv line up or on the " antenna network only" either.
I think it started with good intentions but it has deteriorated. Money and power win out every time! As was stated, God will honor His Word and FAITH! |
Re: TBN
I find it hard to believe that without TBN there'd be no move of God in foreign countries.
I use to let my nephews watch the kids shows on TBN that came on on Saturday when they were young, other then that TBN is worthless to me. |
Re: TBN
I thought Paul and Jan divorced last year.
Also saw somewhere that their grandchildren are suing them, and their son Matt left TBN. But whatever.....never see their programs....have no TV myself. Picked up some news about them on the internet. |

Re: TBN
It has been a few years since I have been able to bring myself to watch anything on TBN. However I do enjoy documentary type programs on Christian churches in countries that are inhospitable to them.
I remember back in the mid 90's ABC's Nightline actually did a program on the underground Christian churches in China. This was before China loosened up and discovered captialism in it's "Enterprise Zones". It honestly was as if a Christian org. had paid for a documentary. The footage and story was amazing. It showed people traveling a long distance for a Bible conference out in the country and how they were sleeping and hiding in a secret crawl space of a country farm home. |

Re: TBN
Matt sold his movie studio to run TBN. His brother left the network. The Paul and Jan are still married.

So NOT a TBN fan. I just can't bring myself to watch it.

Re: TBN
The difference between my comments and the gossip about Memphis mayhem is everything I said followed Biblical principle whoelsome and not encouraging. Even the intellectually challenged would know the difference. Put that in your joint and smoke it.

Re: TBN
Believe me, there are several ministries I don't care for on TBN. But watching the behind the scenes program in Russia, reading letters from Muslim countries from new converts, touched me. Their network is is vast and being aired all over the world into countries that are hostile to Christianity. I think some of the personalities are quirky and not really very good in front of a camera. However I enjoy Jakes, Franklin, Meyer, Stanley and some of their other lesser known programs. I don't watch often but since the new year I've been watching more Christian tv and listening to more Christian radio. It's a far cry better than most stuff on tv and radio.
Last year late one Friday night I saw Michael W. Smith on one of their PTL programs and it was some interview, mostly a worship concert. I laid in my bed and wept. It was powerful. W is the real deal. |
