Disappointed with apostolics

I got really turned off from Facebook {DEACTIVATED} due to all the ungodly bickering among religious folks; even those that professed to be Born Again Apostolics, and now I'm getting turned off {AFF} with all this carnal foolishness over other's opinions, comments, and thoughts; the blatant, and willful rudeness: WHERE IS THE GODLY ATTITUDES, AND WITNESS???? I'm finding out that many people that were baptised in Jesus name, and profess to be filled with the Holyghost are like "coins lost in the house", and not really living a practicing life of worship {at least not by the behaviour on AFF}, and service to Jesus; just going to church, and another manner of person(s) outside of church-where's the godly convictions??: these willful ugly debates, and rudeness on AFF is dispicable. I'm very disappointed-I thought that I found a wholesome site to fellowship without reflecting those same mean, and ugly spirits that I witnessed on Facebook.

There are so many sweet people who post here, people I'm very fond of.
And there are some who appear to me (I could be wrong) to be wounded and bitter.
I would say this: If you are not being edified, or learning something about other viewpoints that has some value, then you should probably leave the forum.

Have you ever given thought to starting your own forum? I'm sure you are not alone in your desire to have fellowship with people of like precious faith...I'm not being a smart aleck- I am serious.

Or, maybe you could actually turn your thoughts around. Maybe your tenure here doesn't have to be ALL ABOUT YOU. Maybe God has placed you here 'For such a time as this' to be a help and a blessing to a hurting, or disallussioned soul?

Just some thots...

Face Book is quite easy to control... you can block the types of posts you see, and block people of unfriend people.

On here that is also possible...

You can block users that annoy you, and choose not to read threads that are not to you liking.

...have said that, read the rules (http://www.apostolicfriendsforum.com...hread.php?t=35) and by all means report posts that you think cross the line.

In general, AAF is here to uplift and share not bicker and debate.

Hope this helps.

The problem is, is that if you have a forum with like minded people there will be almost no discussion. What is there to argue about and keep the conversations moving? (seriously) LOL

How do you know when someone blocks you?

scotty 01-23-2013 01:29 PM

Re: Disappointed with apostolics

1. They dissappear from my friends list

2. They suddenly stop answering your questions while continuing to discuss with others. (Not a sure sign you've been blocked, but pretty safe bet)

You don't, until you notice that you have stopped seeing any and all posts from them. A block works both ways. And yes, plenty of people blocked me as well.

Yep, and it's completely different from simply hiding posts, because when you hide, their posts disappear from your newsfeed, but you can still see their comments on other people's pages (as well as their profile page/timeline). If you block them it's as if they don't exist; you won't find them in search, and if they comment on one of your friend's posts, you won't see the comment; they won't see yours either.

I think if I ever used facebook, I'd be verrrry selective of who
I deemed as "friends". I know some folks who say they have
over a thousand and I'm like........what?? LOL I don't think I
need to read about the goings on of over a thousand folks on
my timeline.

I have a lot because of family, old friends, friends of my children, forum friends, etc. I don't think I am close to 1,000 though. LOL And of course not all are in my news feed.

I don't have a Facebook.

I don't block people.

I'm sure I have been blocked.

It doesn't bother me.

If it does, then I can and will leave.

It does NOT solve the issue that we're suppose to be a light for Christ, and how effective are people with winning souls when they cannot even get along with others of like precious faith??? It's very easy to dismiss criticism that point at US possible taking a good look aty our attitude and behavior that oftentimes does not reflect the spirit, nor the witness of Christ. How many souls have each individual on AFF and facebook truly won for the Lord in 2012??? All this bickering about dressing people up to conform to an Org. dress/standard code when its the heart that need transforming and regenration: just a lot of carnal; lack of praying people that seems to have mastered the interpretation of the bible {supposedly}, but not very effective with winning souls.

I'm still reeling at all the ugly, hateful, and ungodly things that people {supposed saved-tongue talking people} had to say about our current presiden Obama the first term, and they came back with such an even uglier venom the second election bid; NO change of demeanor; just a lot of ugly spirited supposed church people: SO VERY SAD, SAD, SAD!!!

Yep, my personal political view/support was Republican {very conservative} for over 20 years: I love Reagan, and Bush Sr., and would vote again for Bush Sr. if he were to run for the whitehouse in a wheelchair, but I watch and observe those Apostolic and other pentecostal groups/people on Facebook and their attitude about the past 2 elections, and their attitudes and remarks about President Obama and I was FLOORED!!! Regardless of our personal spiritual convictions; we're NOT suppose to threaten, and outright say we hate the president; hope that's he's killed in office-etc; I observed this from so, so many people that claim to be Apostolic saved, and I was devestated with this behaviour; this INCLUDED many preachers, pastors and their congregation(s). I personally INBOXED these people; even those that were/are on my Facebook friends list and rebuked them for their ungodly behaviour and some literally threatened me and told me that I'm going to hell for supporting and abortionist and gay lover: wow!!! They just assumed that I was a supported, but I am a supporter of CHARITY NOT BEHAVING ITSELF UNSEEMLY AS CORINTHIANS SAYS WE OUGHT TO CONDUCT OURSELVES. I am a supporter of "PRAYING FOR THOSE THAT ARE IN AUTHORITY", and I also have the faith in God's word that "THE HEART OF THE KING {INCLUDING OUR CURRENT PRESIDENT} IS IN GOD'S HANDS" Everyone one of us have the right to our own thought, opinions, comments-etc, but the bible says "LET IS BE A JUST ONE"

Being an experienced pastor of over 22 years, and working/dealing with the spirit/emotions of hundreds; I'm not fooled by the carnality/falleness of so many who have been dooped, and have their affections more attached to the world, and the carnals of this life than stretching out in the spirit, and in a consecrative prayer life to truly exemplify the Christ likeness in our personal lives, and having the true Agape' love of God shinning brightly from us and radiating into the lives of the ungodly; too often, and too many of us prove otherwise. Opinions, commentary and all the trimmings are fine, but when we deliberately seek to INSULT-BERATE-DISRESPECT each other; there's another spirit operating there. I go through the various threads and I observe just about the SAME handful of persons conducting themselve in the same combative manner regardless of the poster's thread; I wonder; how effective is this person(s) with witnessing, and leading souls to the Lord??? How does these persons get along on the job; family-etc??? What does the people outside have to say about persons of this behavior; we are to have a good report without the church as well????

I'm just VERY concerned with what's being produced, or the lack thereof within the confines of people's lives; conduct, and attitude when it comes to being that STRIVING WHOLESOME witness for Jesus in/with our attitudes????

THIS SHOULD BE THE FOREMOST SPIRIT {CHARITY-AGAPE' LOVE OF GOD} IN OUR LIVES: I CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 13:

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have NOT charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.-JUST A OT OF NOISE!!!

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have NOT charity, I am nothing. JUST A SHOW!!!!

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have NOT charity, it profiteth me nothing. A WASTE OF TIME-EFFORT!!!

4 Charity suffereth LONG, and is KIND; charity envieth NOT; charity vaunteth NOT itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth NOT behave itself UNSEEMLY, seeketh NOT her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh NO evil;

6 Rejoiceth NOT in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth ALL things, believeth ALL things, hopeth ALL things, endureth all things.

8 Charity NEVER faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is CHARITY {THE EVERLASTING LOVE OF GOD THAT SHOULD SHOW FORTH IN OUR LIVES}.

THIS IS WHAT I STRIVE TO LIVE AND SHARE WITH OTHERS: IT'S MANDATED FOR THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST-ALL BORN AGAIN BELIEVERS!!!
