Christians For A Biblical Lifestyle
It is so stunning to see that such a huge amount of discussion never gets beyond "Apostolic Standards". Is there no searching and reaching for more? Im sure I was one of the very first on Apostolic Forums 13 years ago to come out against what I consider mens traditions concerning dress and other areas.
Now many have come to see some of these things. What I am NOT seeing in any major way is people teaching a return to BIBLICAL LIFESTYLE. It seems more like the "move" of today is to CAST OFF any teaching of the commandments of Christ. When people get free from error why is there not a strong urge to find more truth? Altho I have almost always opposed the Pentecostal dress code its not giving me any joy nowadays to find masses of people turning from them and then at least SEEMINGLY throwing out ANY teaching that calls them to Biblical Lifestyles. After all God does not just accept anything we offer him. He himself has set the life of a Christian according to his commandments. Anyone interested in BIBLICAL LIFESTYLES? |

Can you give some examples. You list me with generalities.

Almost everything is about how some one became offended over dress or they were treated so bad by some Pastor. Friends let us realize we are not living merely before the eyes of men. How about we fix our eyes upon the Lord and live our lives as TO HIM?
What is a Biblical LIFESTYLE? Many have no idea. Have you been delivered from a legalistic, mean spirited Pastor? Are you now going to spend year after year crying over it? Why not jump into the sermon on the mount? Learn how a true Christian acts and loves and lives? Cmon guys and girls get over it. Its time to move forward. Take up the cross and the commandments of Jesus. Live for HIS FAVOR. I have found that will bring it down upon you. Dont turn from the Jesus of the Bible because of bitterness against some Church group. Fall into HIS ARMS. Let your faith become as unto him. |

Holiness is STILL the order of the day. We MUST live a life free from sin.

Re: Christians For A Biblical Lifestyle
If I could live a life free from sin, I wouldn't need Jesus!
To the OP - that is what I am doing now. I had to leave UPC to find a real relationship with God - there was just too much "noise" in UPC, too many distractions, too little a actual Bible being preached. I can honestly say that I learned more about God and what it means to be a Christian in my first 6 months out of UPC than in my previous 6 years as an adult sitting on a Pentecostal pew, and being raised Pentecostal combined. I am happily attending a non-denominal church that teaches Oneness and baptizes in Jesus name. Love living my life for God, pursuing Him...and I feel like this is the first time in my life I have actually done so. |
Re: Christians For A Biblical Lifestyle
So many people "free " from living standards of men but still bound by a life of sin!
We live a life apart from worldly concepts, not because men command but because God desires us to. Holiness is a heart condition that will show outside. Some here think you are free yet are bound up tight. You just don't know it! If a person knew they were being deceived then they would not be deceived! |
