How often do you like to take communion?

It is such a special time for me and I really like to do it weekly.

We usually do it once a year at watch night service. There are no Biblical commands to how many times you do it just, "as oft ye do" it can be every time you come together or once a year, or any variation thereof.
I "personally" don't like the idea of taking it to often because I do not want it to become to common.

Often enough to stay sacred but never common. For each person that could be different.

We have communion on the first Sunday of each month. And it is not common-place. It is a special time.

Our church does communion once a year.
We also do the feet washing.
Always a very annointed service.

When my sisters and I were young Catholics, we used to steal the hosts out of the, whatever that room is called, and eat them after Mass. :heeheehee

I prefer to take it at least weekly, But having a good understanding of what it is and what it does for us in the Spirit Realm, I have been known to take it at home every day when I feel it necessary!

Acts 20:7
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the next day; and continued his speech until midnight.

We would partake those 'hosts' during Christmas and Easter at the dinner table before we ate our ham and sausage feast. Somebody would make them and sell them. They were called Oplatki in Polish. Christmas and Easter was very polish traditional/ritualistic for us.

It was not just a time to open presents and find easter eggs. Good Friday was a very solemn day. Most places where I grew up closed school and workplaces closed up and sent everybody home at noon.

I remember that and I wish it was still the same today.

Jesus broke bread with the disciples many times & called it not anything significant. As well, there is no mention of the wine.

"

The Greek work used for break in this verse is "Klao" and it means: to break used in the NT of the breaking of bread or communion. Thus showing that the Apostles had communion, albeit a slightly different method than we use today, every week.

My Dad's church had communion the first Sunday of every month. I really miss that tradition. It never lost its meaning for me.
