Woman Told Next Year She'll Be Penalized

A friend of mine posted on FB this AM that when his daughter completed her taxes the tax preparer informed her that next year when she files next year she must have government approved healthcare or she must pay a fine.

This isn't your daddy's America citizens! Bye, bye Miss American Pie!

Aren't states supposed to be getting healthcare exchanges ready for their citizens?

Mississippi spent 4.5 million in federal dollars preparing a healthcare exchange and the Federal government rejected it.

What are they planning for the citizens?

Excerpt:

JACKSON — Federal officials have rejected Mississippi's proposal to create a state-run insurance exchange, Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney said Thursday.

"I am sorely disappointed in the denial of federal approval," Chaney said during a news conference. An exchange is an online marketplace where people can buy health insurance.

Under the federal health law that President Barack Obama signed in 2010, every state is required to have an exchange so people can get coverage starting in January 2014, much of it federally subsidized. States that don't create their own will have one run by Washington.

Chaney submitted an exchange proposal to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in mid-November.

Gov. Phil Bryant objects to the federal health care law and sent two letters to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius trying to block Chaney's proposal. Bryant and Chaney are both Republicans.

Chaney said he had tried to work with the White House to win approval, but "I feel betrayed at this point."

Chaney and his staff had worked on the exchange proposal for several months, spending about $4.5 million in federal money on the effort.

Wonder when Federal law began trumping state laws? Just curious.

People are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Too many uninformed citizens. They hear the one liners, the lofty promises, the giveaways...so many haven't a clue how broke we are. Some don't care---they live as though printing Monopoly money will have no consequences.

I talked to a retired postal worker who made millions investing in stocks over the years and he got hostile talking about HE deserved the Social Security HE paid for! Of course, there was nothing said about the many of us who will never get a penny of the SS we paid for.

The Greatest Generation gave birth to the Most Selfish Generation = Baby Boomers. Every subsequent generation has embraced the hedonism and narcissism of the Boomers. It took a Great Depression to humble America and bring it to it's knees. I'm afraid nothing short of tough days of high unemployment, hunger, struggle, sorrow and pain can bring America back to it's faith and fiscal responsibilities.

We elect people to Congress who do not listen to their constituents...thus make bad laws.

Ever wonder who they listen to?

If every branch of government had term limits, a LOT of the corruption would go with it. Give the President 6 years---Congressman and Senators 4 years---Supreme Court Justices 8 years. No reelection campaigns, no fundraising, no career politicians. But it will never happen. The foxes would have to vote themselves out of the chicken coop. They'll never do it.

Obama care is designed to break the system.

medical care is going to get really really bad over the next few years.

The goal is collapse so the people will demand a single payer government controled system.

dont get sick.

Deac, while I am not opposed to that idea, in reality all that would do is drive high dollar special interests being able to buy the guy going into office.

I think the real solution is to increase the number of members of congress to something like 3000 memebers.

change districts to represent a max of 100k people.

That is an unusual proprosal. May have some merit.

6 years of executive orders?

That's too long. Shorten it to 2 years. Damage to the country can be minimalized.
