How To Repair A Hole In A Cloth Automobile Seat?

Can anyone give me an idea of how to repair a hole in the cloth seat of my vehicle? The hole is about the size of a pencil eraser. We bought the used car a few weeks ago and I noticed this small patch of gum looking stuff on the seat. Thinking it WAS gum, I took some cleaner and tried to get it off. It rolled right off alright, but then I realized it was a repair of some sort to the hole underneath it! ugh.

Are the seats leather, vinyl, or cloth?

I was going to post a link to the Permatex repair kit on Amazon but see that Prax already did that.

When things like this come up I always look and see what Amazon has and then what the customer reviews say about the various offerings. In the case of Permatex there are 38 customer reviews giving it 4.5 out of 5 stars. That is about the best rating you are going to get on a product.

It's just a little hole in the seat, not the motor!

I'm either gonna get that Permatex or maybe the Walmart stuff
(they both looked to be about the same thing).

or, someone told me I could sew the hole together!

Or you could buy seat covers.

LOL! I actually read that some one tried using peanut butter.
Stuffed it in the hole, let it set for a day or so, and voila!
I don't think brown peanut butter would match my light gray
seat though. :heeheehee

Lacey, if you do get one of those repair kits report back on if they work or not, how hard it was, etc.

Update on the hole in the seat!

We got the Permatex brand from Auto Zone.
Mixed it up just like the directions said....got
the almost perfect color to match formulate,
put it on the hole and let it sit over night.

Next morning looked awesome, but, it will need
just a little more added to it which should complete
it all to my satisfaction!

Note to self.....when instructions say to FILL
hole with the adhesive and PACK the colored
fibers, don't be afraid you're putting too much.

All in all, I would highly recommend this product. :)
