Communion
What wine do you recommend for communion?
Do you use bread, wafer host, cracker? |
Re: Communion
Most use crackers of some sort. But, the Mennonite churches I was raised in bake Unleavened Bread. the texture is like a heavy sourdough.

Okay. And how much wine and bread may one consume without crossing over from holy to sacrilege?

Re: Communion
I am friends with some Pentecostals from Russia - and been to their church a time or two. they take regular communion, and use fermented wine. They also bless the wine, and believe as the Catholics do, that none should be left over after blessing it... interesting to see the Elders drink the leftovers. lol

Re: Communion
Have any of you done a bible study on "fruit of the vine" or can refer me to one online? This is still a controversy in our neck of the woods...grape juice vs wine.

Re: Communion
I would Recommend the Word of God, sir. Communion is not to be taking Literally its Spiritual.
The Bread = The Word of God. The Wine = New covenant. Think about it how can Eating a little Piece of Bread and Grape juice Bring me closer to God? If thats the case we all better run to Sams Club and Stock up on all the Bread and Grape juice we can find. And on top of it we might as well believe that, the Bread literally becomes Jesus Flesh and the Grape Juice his Literal Blood. |

Answering a Question with a Question seems to be your Response all through out apostolicfriendsforum. Eternity isn't a Game. It isn't funny nor something to Meddle with, with that type of Attitude.

Do you feel super sanctified when you call me "sir?" That's the affect it used to have on me when I'd call people "sir." You have been here for less than two (2) months and you know how I post all throughout the forum. I don't know if I should be flattered or creeped out. |
Re: Communion
Im no Fan of Ungodliness, and sir your Fruits or Lack there of Shows everyone around you Exactly who you really are.
2 Timothy 3:9 "But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone." |

You say this based off of what, exactly? You've been on AFF for less than two (2) months. Was it my fight with Ronby? |
Re: Communion
1 Corinthians 11:19-22
New King James Version (NKJV) 19 For there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be recognized among you. 20 Therefore when you come together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper. 21 For in eating, each one takes his own supper ahead of others; and one is hungry and another is drunk. 22 What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you. |
Re: Communion
I found a wine. Now I need to find a suitable bread.

Re: Communion
Recipe for Communion Bread
(7 loaves) 2 cups hot water 2 Tbsp olive oil 2 Tbsp honey 1 Tbsp molasses 1 Tbsp salt 5-6 cups of wheat flour Mix all of the ingredients minus the wheat flour in a mixer Slowly add flour until the dough wipes clean off of the sides of the bowl. Mix for 5 - 7 minutes. Divide recipe into six to seven equal balls. One at a time, take the dough ball and pat into a 1/4 inch thick circle. Take a fork and pierce the dough with stripes and a cross. (Don't skip the piercing step or the bread will ruin.) Bake at 400 degrees for 14 - 20 minutes. Cool on a rack. Wrap well and freeze until needed. |
Re: Communion
