Confessions

Thought it would be good to admit to at least one fault we have (no condemnation) so that we could encourage each other and lift each other up in prayer. Please no negative comments; if you don't wish to respond, you don't have to.
I'll go first... I don't like getting too close to other women (christian or non-christian) because I'm afraid of rejection, and I don't want someone to try to take advantage of me.

I relate to what you said here. I will pray for you... can you pray for me
?
I get distracted by technology and spend time on the internet when I should be doing other things (with that I am going to log out) :)

Ok, I am back temporarily:) Thank you for prayers :)
ctclady11, I just prayed for you, and I felt that you have a beautiful heart but you are afraid to be transparent because of past experiences of being misunderstood and misinterpreted. It won't be easy, but God can use your honesty and purity of heart to inspire change within the body. Keep your eyes on Him! He understands what it means to be rejected and misunderstood. Do you operate in prophetic giftings? I have found that this can often be misinterpreted as being personal by those who don't want to hear the message, so they "shoot the messenger". Have courage for your God is with you!

I did read "rejection" the wrong
way the first time I saw your post.
I thought it said something else. Lol

Never mind...

After what we went through I still keep church leadership at a distance and honestly I don't trust many and I don't care what denomination. Oneness or Trinitartian. However still I have a special distrust for Oneness pastors.

Re: Confessions

@ navygoat1998 wow, that's gotta be difficult! My prayers are with you. The Lord gives discernment in certain situations. Even in my own church I have gotten a couple of dirty looks, one from a 12 or 13 year old and another from an older lady, (on 2 different occasions) and I've gotta tell you it hurt my feelings and they were JUST looks. Made me question myself, if I was doing something wrong at first. The Lord let me know, "The problem isn't with you, it's with them" (or something like that) So he reminded me I just need to shrug it off, and give it to Him. And one thing that He wants me to know that if I am to win other people to Him, show them His love, and help others; there are time when I'm gonna have to let my guard down. And that's a reality as a christian I think. The good thing for me about getting hurt and being rejected is when the Lord comforts me and babys me. (And trust me, I can be a big ol' baby sometimes!) Wish I could give you all big holy-ghost filled hug right now!

I thought of this verse,
James 5:16 "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed."
I believe that asking someone to pray for a fault that you have is very biblical, although not something I've done before on a public forum.

Yet, I'll be brave, and confess something the Lord is helping me with...
I don't like confrontation, and avoid it usually at any cost. I've always been called the "peacemaker" in my family... But I've come to realize through situations we've been through, that saying nothing is like agreeing with what is happening. It is hard to turn around and go against the tide and stand for what is right, but with the Lord's help, I am getting much better equipped for this kind of journey.

I know exactly what you are talking about. And I think it is true, especially for women. We just have to do it for the right reasons and when the time is right!!

I don't publicly confess a fault anymore.

It seems that any time I have ever done so, it was used against me to hurt or disparage me.

I take great comfort in knowing that. @Cindy you are such a caring special lady! Re: Confessions

That when you have a spiritual gift, you keep it. If you have prophesied, then you are gifted in at least one of the spiritual prophetic gifts. Jason Sciscoe has some good teaching on his website at Church Triumphant if you want to have a listen.
