He is Still Oneness Pentecostal In Heart
What an awesome Palm Sunday sermon, preached by Bishop T. D. Jakes!

Re: He is Still Oneness Pentecostal In Heart
T.D. Jakes found what many have found, the body of Christ is much much larger than oneness pentecostalism.

He is no Oneness. He has chosen to leave it behind for compromise with the Trinitarian position.

I think TD Jakes has taken a position that one must believe in the deity of Christ. How one wishes to interpret it (Oneness or Trinitarianism) isn't an issue he's willing to fight about.

I don't think he came to his theological stance overnight and neither do I think it was a flippant matter to him. His theological stance isn't a symptom of personal compromise. |
Re: He is Still Oneness Pentecostal In Heart
My wife and I listen last night to his teaching/sermon and we truly gleaned from it. I however don't see his Oneness influence at all. I would say that more than a Oneness influence I would say it was his old school Pentecostal background, and contrary to some OP's they don't have the market on "old school Pentecost".
Thank you for posting. |

He often guest preaches at a church just a couple of blocks from our house here in East Mesa.

If sweating a sign of the anointing, Jakes is one of the most anointed preachers I know.

Didn't he used to be PAW, along with Noel Jones? I heard at least one of them is COGIC now. Is there any truth to this rumor?

Many, if not most Trinitarian preachers and even singers I've heard, leave that phrase out because it is problematic. By the way Sir, you really shouldn't "Amen" calling Bishop Jakes a lizard. You wouldn't call him that in your own post because you have too much wisdom for that kind of nonsense. |

Would a true man of God be the one who preaches a standard, a doctrine, a message that would cause folks to allow their babies to die, as well as themselves, because going to doctor was a sin according to these 'men of God'?
There are those who post on the forum who run with such a group you know. |
Re: He is Still Oneness Pentecostal In Heart

[QUOTE=Lacey;1240020]What do you think it's saying?[/QUOTE
I think it's saying that the child which was born, the Son which was given (notice it's not speaking of the Father...that's important) name would be those several terms listed. The Strong's for "name" is..... H8034 שׁם shêm shame A primitive word (perhaps rather from H7760 through the idea of definite and conspicuous position; compare H8064); an appellation, as a mark or memorial of individuality; by implication honor, authority, character: - + base, [in-] fame [-ous], name (-d), renown, report. |
