This is obviously man-made global warming at work. You must sell your vehicles and switch to bicycles immediately! For the children!!!

We have quite a few relatives (most in fact) in Wisconsin and I stopped joking about the weather several weeks ago when I knew it was no longer funny for them. Which is why I will NOT bring up how pretty our yard was this morning with the sun glistening in the water as the lawn sprinklers were going off and the little green hummingbirds flying through the streams and preening in our trees all the while a pair of love birds where at one of the feeders as the quail went marching through on our back yard. Naw, I better not go into all that. Did I tell you our high today is 90? No? Good! I better not. http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w..._0039Small.jpg |
Re: Really?
You are just plain MEAN RW! You really should get an infraction for such behavior as this! :lol
How dare you tease us poor souls out here in the north! We live in northern Idaho, and we got snow Sunday evening, but it didn't "stick" thankfully. We had our snow tires taken off our vehicle too. I can't imagine getting as much snow as Wisconsin right now. It would drain the very life right out of your soul.... and then here is RW just "rubbing it in".... ! |
Re: Really?
You are in Wisconsin. Its supposed to be cold.

Re: Really?
Here in Idaho today, it finally got up to 62 degrees. We have had one day so far where it hit 70. But, this morning, when I got up, it was 28 degrees outside. So it is starting to warm up during the day, but the nights are still very frosty. No garden planting anytime soon for us. Poor ILG... she would just be happy to see 40 degrees and sunshine I think! I hope the snow melts quickly, and brings beautiful May flowers :)

North wind hit a little while ago. A/C turned off, but still have a fan going. :)

Re: Really?
So glad I don't live up north. It is in the upper 70's here and the flowers are blooming. I am sitting here on the porch listening to the birds sing.

Re: Really?
Winter is hanging on here....but in the form of below temps. We did escape the snow :bigbaby
Lots and lots of rain.......to perhaps end the drought from last summer! The snow line was just north of us :heeheehee But since I have friends and relatives in Denver, Rapid City and northern MN I too refrain from discussing our lack of SNOW !!! My brother said they have over 20" on the ground! |

It IS hot but you just don't do too much outside and keep your AC running. |

Re: Really?
We live OUTSIDE here in the summer... as opposed to those in the south, who live INSIDE in the summer with air conditioning blowing.
We also enjoy being outside in the winter with winter sports. However, it is this "in-between" weather that I really don't like... where its not sure whether it is spring or winter and every day the pendulum shifts back and forth. When spring/summer finally arrive... oh hallelujah - it is a joyous occasion, and we do almost literally live outside from that point on until at least the end of September, middle of October. Not bad! So, being up north isn't so bad... except when it is this "in-between" weather that seems to linger a bit too long! |

And here is May 1st!!! This is very unusual!
The second picture is our rudimentary set up for cooking sap. We have made A LOT of Maple Syrup this year. It's been a lot of work but we are set for the year for sure! |

I'm not going to do any comparisons... because while it's beautiful here right now in July a vacation to hell will seem like a break in the heat. |
Re: Really?
Wow, this is craziness! What a total bummer!!!! Thanks for sharing your maple syrup set up. Looks like a ton of work!
Today was nice here... I think it got up close to 70 today. I was outside working in the yard all day... still not ready to plant, but getting things ready to go. Yesterday though... we did have some strange weather here with these little round balls of snow falling out of the sky. Then, the sun would come out, and the snow balls would melt, and then it would do it again and then the sun would come out. I think it did that like three times yesterday... |
Re: Really?
It was over 70 degrees here yesterday, believe it or not!!! It's crazy!

Re: Really?
So, I take it you won't be BBQing today? Wow, I could do snow for one day, but that's it.
I saw a sign, probably photoshopped, for IH 35 here in Texas. It said, "Oh My God, it's snowing, we are all gonna die!" We have no clue how do drive in that kind of weather. :heeheehee |
Re: Really?
We all better get ready for this "new normal".... or actually a return to and older normal...
We have been blessed by a warming trend from about 1979 to 1998 but since then the warming stalled. Now the sun is going dormant, some scientists are predicting a Maunder Minimum like period. That coincided with Little Ice Age. There now is some speculation that all the warming gained since4 1979 may be gone by 2025. Its about to get chilly and chilly is always bad for the globe. |
