Air Compressor

Having an issue with an air compressor. No air coming out of the hose. I thought it wasn't building pressure but it is.

Oh, anything I may have missed?

Re: Air Compressor

Can you google the problem to see if there is a solution? I've done that for several different things, and surprisingly, you can usually find someone out there who has had the same problem, and perhaps a solution...

Well there is likely a valve...

You do have the hose connected to the compressor, right? ..... Sorry Houston, I just couldn't resist! Hope you find your problem asap.

Re: Air Compressor

most have 2 valves one to regulate the max amount you want to have and the other to regulate the air the tool operates on.I build up the tank pressure to 100lbs. but I regulate the tool air to 60 lbs.

Re: Air Compressor

tool pressure valve not turned in, or kink in hose or hose has collapsed on the inside ?

Need to borrow my air compressor? :)

I was looking at it tody. The gauge on the valve that regulates the pressure is showing that... It doesn't have pressure.

Something open letting air out?

Motor working okay?

Houston, on my compressor you have to turn the round knob by the valve before it will start building up pressure. The more you turn it the higher the pressure builds. Hope that will help.

Motor is fine. Air is not leaking.

Re: Air Compressor

Is it a direct drive or belt drive? Oiled or Oil less? Does it stay on all the time or cutoff after pressure has built up?My best guess is the Regulator Valve, depending on how much money you have tied up in it you might want to see about replacing the part or just getting a new compressor..

houston 05-22-2013 04:06 PM

Re: Air Compressor

Probably direct drive. Idk. It cuts off after pressure builds.

Re: Air Compressor

is the knob thats sets the tool pressure plastic and stripped ? when you turn it to the right it should reach the point where it cant be turned anymore

Re: Air Compressor

Shoot a nail from a nail gun at the tank from a safe distance. Alternatively, use a pistol. Guaranteed to stop it from building pressure.
