Apostolic Roku channel- Who's gonna make the 1st?
 

I've completed a basic look through the 172 Christian channels, I found 1 that is Pentecostal< I think it is anyways <(GETV), but not one is Apostolic.....

Now we're newbies to the Apostolic doctrines, but wouldn't it be something for someone to make an Apostolic based Roku channel???

Maybe this is your calling card Larry with your MIA?
Maybe an AFF channel with (AFF approved content)?
Or anyone else?


Thoughts?

I have learned there are private channels as well, so if any knows of one that is Apostolic let me know, as a newbie, I would enjoy watching such content in my down time...

That's funny, I was just looking through all the Roku channels last night. I found one that streamed lots of different church services, but there were lots and I got tired of looking halfway through. So I'm not sure if there are any Apostolic churches in there. (I wouldn't have necessarily recognized one unless it had Apostolic in the title).

I was more looking for something called The Post Modern Emergent Church of Liberals :nod

I've watched this channel before. Bethel Tabernacle (UPC), Houston, Texas - pastored by David Fauss, son of O.R. Fauss.

The quality of the video stream is good. I've played the live stream on Sunday morning before. They also have a few on-demand videos, some of those wouldn't play.

I don't believe there are any other UPC or Apo churches on Roku. There are, however, a lot of other great Christian channels.

Lacey, it's a device that lets you stream internet programming directly to your TV, working with both paid services (Netflix, Hulu Plus, etc.) and free programming (crackle, Pandora, TBN, PBS, etc.)

It is great if you don't want to pay for Cable/Satellite, but don't necessarily want to sit at your compute to watch either.

It is an extremely nifty gadget that allows you to stream all manner of "channels" to your tv via the internet. Not only do you have specific Roku channels (I do not have one so anyone who DOES, please correct me if my descriptions are wrong) you can also watch all of YouTube and subscribe to the MLB (Major League Baseball) package as well as all sorts of pay-per-view movies. The only reason I do not have one is because we use are PS3 for most of the same thing (we rarely, if ever, play games on the thing).

It's a little box with a remote that connects to your wireless internet.

You buy the Roku, $60, and you own it, no monthly charges.

Then you have about 500 free & 200 paid channels.


Why are Roku's mentioned on such Christian forums?
A. They have (about 172) Christian channels.
B. You can put a code on the Roku, so you select what channels to have & what channels your family doesn't have.

So it's cheaper than cable, you can ever-so-more prevent worldly corruption from entering your home and your children, and it's as simple as one could make it (much simpler than a cable box I would assume).

I'm a HUGE fan as I like knowing what my boys are watching, and I love how all these Churches are finally getting a fair shot against cable.
Even if I don't believe everything they are preaching, I still respect their drive.

In the end I feel Roku has made leaps and bounds towards getting The Word out there, in a world that is going to hell in a handbasket.

It looks like him but it isn't. Oh God was filmed I believe in the early 80's if not 70's and that picture of Peter Popoff is only a year or two old.

We are looking at several possible avenues to increase our reach. Right now I am tied up with the Bible College in London, producing curricula and some other projects. Plus we have a lot on our plate already, ministry wise. I want to expand into several areas, but want to be certain it is of the Lord and such.

I was unaware of Roku until your post. I will enjoy checking that out.

I bought a Roku last year along with a Sony Google LED TV. The Roku is for my daughter to use with Netflix and some other kids stuff. The Roku I have came with the Angry Birds game and the remote doubles as a game controller.

We're misfits, and new... 3 weeks ago we didn't know of anything besides trinity, we didn't know the salvation comes in 3 stages, we are not born again, but working towards it, much much more...
