Rev. Ray Majors

I see where Rev Ray Majors of Melville, LA went home to be with Jesus today. Does anyone know why he retired and stopped pastoring?

Rev Ray Majors of Melville, LA retired because his last two ASSISTS quit and he was losing the church.

His health was fine. After he resigned, he traveled the world and hunted every month in Texas.

His church was splitting because his was a dictator.

TOTALLY UNTRUE.

My daughter in law is out of this church and a friend now pastors it.

Bro Majors was having health problems well before he retired.

Some people just love to lie and run down good men and good churches.

We don't agree on much, WH, but we definitely agree on this. This is no place to be running anyone down, especially after they've passed on.

He was a good pilot! Land a plane on a dirt strip and have it stopped almost before it touched the ground. Sold me some carpet many years ago and the tools to put it down with. Was straight as an arrow with what he believed. (Didn't agree with him on everything but that was my problem, not his!)

Been Thinkin

Should have clarified, what I meant was this is no place to be airing private grievances with someone who you encountered in real life, especially post mortem!

Ah, still not coming out right..............:happydance

Don't know much about him except I attended a Labor Day service once at his church about 20 years ago, and my mean ole uncle wouldn't let me go to the bathroom for the whole 4-5 hour ordeal! :D

Re: Rev. Ray Majors

All of us have people we like better than others....he did not support us as missionaries but was always kind to us. My pastor sure liked him a lot. I personally think he was a good man and was a friend to many. We are all different and some personalities just clash...wish it was not like that but that is life.
I never thought of him as being among some of the Ultra Cons but am sure some do. He was a godly man and a good preacher and I am praying for his family. This is not the time to air conflicts but a time of sorrow for his family. Death almost always brings pain and grief even though the person was very sick....I am sorry for his family and for those that loved him. I am very sure he will be missed.
