I will pray for you, Sis Alvear.

I will pray for the Lord to return your vehicle in good and in running condition.

God is able.

Maybe you should consider purchasing insurance, and pehaps 9mm to shot the robbers! Maybe your mechanic was in on it?

no the mecanic almost had to be taken to the hospital he was so upset. We know him real well...yes, we should get insurance and we did for our personal van but could not afford for both cars...insurance is very high here...I don't even think UPCI missionaries have it...It is unreal...

It almost becomes a way of life...We live in a very dangerous part of Brazil...love you my twin and thanks for prayers.

Re: Robbed once again

Surely having insurance would be cheaper than buying a new car every year.

Re: Robbed once again

yes if we had the money to buy it...need at least 1000 for first payment and then around 100 or so a month that we don't have...we really live on so little...no bragging in anyway just stating a fact...

Re: Robbed once again

Very few understand what it is to live day after day for the last 45 years by faith...never knowing from one day to the next what will come in...however we chose this way of life a long time ago when several groups offered us money...but we chose to do it this way for the Brazilian people....when we die all belongs to them not some group of Americans that do not really know what is going on....

I hope I did not sound like a smark alek...I just meant to say things are done with such sacrifice and money is so hard to come by...

Re: Robbed once again

Not trying to be a smart aleck here, really, and I respect what you're doing, so please take this in the spirit it's offered.

If donations are going to be solicited via social media, etc (and I don't have a problem with anyone making their needs known) then surely it would be acceptable to say, hey supporters, we need XX amount for a new car because it was stolen, and now that we've had two cars stolen in a year, we feel that we should buy the insurance.

Or just include the insurance cost in the amount you're trying to raise for a car, with yearly requests to supporters.

I think it shows foresight to plan ahead for these things since the support is being requested anyway, to factor these things in. I'm sure people would rather pay $3000 a year in support for insurance than $30000 for new vehicles a year.

Anyway, not trying to call you out publicly, but perhaps someone else is wondering the same thing. I'm sure you've thought it all out before, but I've been watching the situation, and it just seems that perhaps there is a different solution, and more donations might come in, even.
