How Do You Feel About This Phrase...

"God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit"

Let me know if you have any problems with that phrase and please briefly explain what your issue(s) is (are) with the aforementioned phrase.

I would have a problem with it, if it were not true...But since he is God the Father,God the Son and God the Holy Spirit I do not see any issue with it.. And it's awful eairly in the morning to be opening this can of worms.....lol

I do have a problem with this phraseology, but I believe it is because for so long, I was taught to have a problem with the phraseology.

The more I think about it, this phraseology would be problematic for me as it indicates a certain, separate three-ness that is unscriptural.

One thing I'll point out. The Bible never one time uses the phrase "God the Son." Just sayin"

its not three-ness, it just a discripion of what god is, like me I am dad, father, husband all that is doing is giving a discription of who I am, its not saying there is 3 of me..Once again folks reading way to much into the bible, its real simple if you just read it and move past the religion part of it..

For discussions sake... In my opinion the distinctive "God" at the beginning of each phrase would tend to indicate that each is separate rather than a phrase like God.. Father, Son & Holy Spirit. It seems to distinctively call each one God. So we can discuss it from that angle since that would appear to be the intent.

DT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You haven't been around to witness my triumphant return, or at least my half-hearted "hey-guys...what'd I miss?"

I've changed my name, (The "low" of Michlow was part of my former last name that belonged to my ex-husband), but as I've informed Timmy, you are still more than welcome to yell "MICH" anytime you see me :D

As per the topic at hand...I have no problem with the terminology, but it's not something that I can think that I'd have a reason to use it. I usually stick with "Jesus", will occasionally mention the Holy Spirit, but "God the Father, tends to bring to mind Big Bully OT god.

It is not theologically correct. I am fine with God the Father and Jesus Christ the son of God. But God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are not correct terms.

God bless

This place is extremely helpful for sharpening my debating skills for philosophical discussions with my husband. (Much better than me saying "well, that's just the way I feel, don't ask me to explain it...LOL)

My issue with it is that it is too long. Obviously someone came up with the phrase in order to please as many camps as possible.

Can you imagine how tiring prayers would be if you said "God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit" in every instance where you would have previously said just "God"? It almost reminds me of the story of Tikki Tikki Tembo-no Sa Rembo-chari Bari Ruchi-pip Peri Pembo.

Whose was so angry that he refused to talk to his parents ever again?
