Prax posted this one a few days ago, but it is still annoying and brings back rather -unpleasant, memories (the most unpleasant being the question, "why did I/we put up with this for as long as we did?").

I believe it is a baptist church. Which one, I have no idea.

This is unbelievable. My guess is that he's Independent Fundamental Baptist, because I know some of them who have that same attitude.

Well, that wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. But hey, it reminds me why I don't go to church! LOL! Sad that that guy thinks he's doing God's work saying that garbage.

Wait a minute before we judge. We do not know the meaning of this meeting. Only a fool judges before hearing both sides.

Love the pulpit though, what a nice piece of wood.

Re: "Pastor" throws hissy fit

I don't care what the other side is. This pastor is saying things from the pulpit that shouldn't be said. That is called a "Bully Pulpit".

I KNEW some of you people could not come on this board and discuss anything negative WITHOUT mentioning the UPCI!

Do you guys really hate it that much? If you do, you have problems. I can name some other organizations I have problems with, but this video is not even about them...nor is it about the UPCI... so get off your idiotic high horse.

And by the way, this was absolutely WRONG! If the pastor had that much of a problem, he could have taken the saints in question into his office, but that amounted to what I would call a public flogging!

And to those that say we do not know the whole story that is true, but YOU are not going to convince ME that the pastors behavior in that tirade was anything but horrid!

Someone could easily take this video and do what so many others have done to the infamous Hitler video, except like a "bad lip synching" video. LOL

What this vid looks like is they are having a church board meeting. He makes the comment that he will take his wife and car and go down the road.

Probably preached against sin and one of the board members kids took offense, ran to deacon daddy and said.... "get rid of dat preacher!"

Most people on this forum would have got mad at Jesus for cleansing the temple if they were there that day!

:happydance

You can't compare what this man did to what Jesus did.

Telling a person they're one of the worst saints and not worth 15 cents is NOT the same as Jesus cleansing the Temple.

And if you believe it is, you shouldn't be a Pastor.

houston 07-03-2013 09:32 AM

Everyone has become so hypersensitive.

You're examining the letter of what was said and you're missing the spirit of the message.

Liberal pharisees.

Ha. It worked out for you.

I watched the first few minutes or so. Really didn't have a problem with it if you keep it in context. I heard rev. Ike Terry used to hull a few heads.

I think he is sincere anyway and would probably respond to a need at 3am.

Maybe you are too stupid to understand the anti_UPCI attitude around here?

Here's a clue..this was not even about the UPCI nor did it happen in a UPCI church.

I do believe everyone realizes it is a Baptist church. And I have experienced and seen "chewing outs!" similar (ok, not QUITE as bad as this maroon) at our UPC church as well. . . . .

What really burns me is the way this guy yells at someone then does the "you know I love you!" and then demands a hug. I would have hugged him, but while my mouth was close to his ear, whisper "I will break you", to quote Ivan Drago.

It kind of reminds me of a line from Mystery Science Theater, "Lady, here's 2 bucks. Because that's all your worth."

Doesn't it though? That kind of abusive garbage didn't drive me away from a church, but from church period, not only me but my daughter as well. My only regret is not decking the slob. Sad thing is, there are masny who think that is good preachin'

Yeah this video made me kinda angry.I have no problem with preaching it straight but this smacks so much of control and abuse its not even funny.I mean this is a "me me me" spirit....my kingdom my rules....my church ect.I pray that they are led somewhere that they csn find healing.

Update....

The young man this "pastor" called out as the sorriest member and not worth 15 cents has left that church. Good for him. In fact, everyone should stay home this Sunday and make the "pastor" preach to an empty room.

Also, the "pastor" is not going to apologize.

Watch the video update....this was NOT a church board meeting. This is just how he acts; which makes me wonder why anyone would continue going there. He's being a bully, not a Pastor.

Why would the king say "I'm sorry"? People go to church for refuge,.
hope, forgiveness, love, compassion, a chance for something better.

You folks say God is all powerful.. too bad he doesn't have the power to bridle the bullies who speak in his name.

God will handle it. Its not the first time its happened, nor the last (see Jer 23). However neither this idiots "preaching" nor anyone elses unbelief, disobedience, or hypocricy excuses your own.

I'm not saying its not sickening, tiring, or excusable. I hate it, and I can see why people get put out with the "church". But the American church is quite distinct from Jesus. One can reject this poor excuse for Christianity in our country, and still seek to follow Jesus.

PS-are you the John Atkinson from Ct, that used to post on Good News Cafe forum?

StillStanding 07-04-2013 01:46 PM

I'm humiliating you because I love you! With friends like this, who needs enemies?

The pastor was ticked off because the young man was dosing off 40 minutes into his sermon. When people start dosing off in the middle of a sermon, it means that you're boring or have preached too long!
