New Black Panther Party Is Not the Same
 

The original, "Black Panther Party" was never about hating the white man, but about ending institutionalized racism, loving black people and the liberation of all people-- well so says the founders of the original Black Panther Party.

Bobby Seale, co-founder of the Black Panther Party is quoted as saying,

"Just to hate another person because [of] the color of their skin or their ethnicity—we don't do that. That's not what the goal objective is. The goal objective is human liberation. The goal objective is the greater community cooperation and humanism. The goal objective is to get rid of institutionalized racism...."

Now while that sounds good and may actually be their intents, my impression of the Black Panther Party, from the little that I had heard of them and seen of them on tv from a child up to now, is that they angry, militant, and hopelessly racially prejudiced.


I bring this up because the New Black Panther Party is apparently attempting to organize protests around the country as they, along with everyone else, anticipates that George Zimmerman will walk.


I want my AFF family to be ASSURED that I will not participate in any rally or protest that is sponsored by or connected to the New Black Panther Party-- or any other group whose objectives are based on the hate of any single race or nation.

The reason behind me posting this thread is that I had said that I would protest if Zimmerman receives an acquittal-- but I won't participate with this organization.


The unfortunate part to all of this is that IF the reports are true about the NBPP starting organize protests surrounding an acquittal, so many other people who will feel the need to protest might unwittingly join themselves to protest that has been organized by a very hateful and violent organization.

But, all ya'll wanted was "Justice for Trayvon" so if he comes back not guilty why would you protest JD? Yall got your justice and GZ was arrested and tried by a jury of his pears.

Why would you protest if Zimmerman is found innocent? I don't understand that. He is being tried in a court of law by a jury of his peers. That is justice.

It isn't the justice that was desired.

And... yes... the new Black Panthers are different.

The problem is that ANY protest will have NBPP elements and supporters.

There shouldn't be a protest if GZ walks anyway. We have a Justice system that is the best in the world, IMO. 6 people who have no connection to GZ are reviewing the facts, evidence and the law; and they will issue a verdict soon which we should all accept, regardless of the racial or emotional feelings one may have about the verdict.

And btw, there has been no justice in this trial. The SPD did their due diligence in investigating the death and determined, rightfully, that GZ committed no crime. During that time TM's parents hired a liar, I mean lawyer, and publicist and went around to rallies and on tv lying that the SPD wasn't investigating the death, when in fact they were.

It was mentioned the irony that many of the news reports complaining about the SPD not investigating the death showed footage from the crime scene of investigators, crime scene tape and forensic units looking over the scene.

Add to that injustice the injustice of the State, who has withheld crucial information and discovery so as to not allow the defense to properly depose and investigate certain items of evidence; and the injustice of the Judge who was against any reasonable request by the defense to give them an extra week to be able to do so.

No, there hasn't been a bit of justice in this case or trial for GZ. TM has received all the justice and then some. It would be a miscarriage of justice for GZ to be charged with either 2nd degree or manslaughter.

Or if GZ was black. Black on black killings happen every day in Chicago and Sharpton has never set foot there to organize a demonstration. Nor has our black President said anything about his home-town's murder rate. MSNBC is also silent about Chicago and b on b killings.
