Questions I have About Jesus

Matthew, Chapter 1

18: Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19: Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
20: But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22: Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23: Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24: Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

What Prophet said this and where is it written?

Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Why did they call him Jesus instead of Emmanuel if spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, they shall call his name Emmanuel?

Isaiah spoke those words - Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14

The flesh was not God, but Jesus was God in flesh. People are made of five areas (for a lack of a better term) the heart, the spirit, the soul, the mind, the flesh. God found Himself in the likeness of a man (Philippians 2:7) but was still God in character (1 Timothy 3:16) and all of the Godhead was in His bodily form (Colossians 2:9).

Jesus was God incarnate, but the flesh did pray to the Spirit. When Jesus prayed, it was the mortal flesh praying to the immortal Spirit. As to the specifics of your question, I'm not sure the Bible ever said Jesus worshiped at all.

I can break this down a little better by going a little more in-depth into the heart/spirit/soul/mind/flesh teaching, but I'll wait on that to see if this makes sense to you so far.

They did not name Jesus ...Immanuel, therefore how can this prophecy be about about him?

Did Jesus Bow down, make reverence and obey, never being equal or above God.
Yes or no?

Isaiah 7:14

Sometimes "name" is used not for a personal name but for what someone will be called. For example he is called the lamb of God. He is called Son of God.

"lamb of God"... "Son of God" are titles. Not names.

Isaiah 9:6 lists some of His other "names." One of which is "The Mighty God." These, like Immanuel, are titles.

Mark, Chapter 1

22:And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
23:And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
24:Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

The disciples of Jesus Christ were called Christians in Antioch. To be a Christian, you must be a disciple of Jesus Christ.

To be a disciple of Jesus Christ it is written...

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

If you can solve this riddle you will know exactly who I am.

A King wears a crown,

made of Gold and precious jewels.

I am a King.

In a Kingdom,

where you will never

find no fools.

My crown,

that God hath set upon me.

More precious than Gold,

and jewels.

Who am I?

Who am I,

to thee?

A "TRUE" disciple of Jesus Christ would never attempt to conceal his identity!

Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

You should look before you leap. Or...look both ways before you try to cross the pasture with the bull in it. Or be able to out run him.

I am thinking here is a soul who has a lot of sins to repent from. The longer you wait the harder it will be.

XTruthSeekerX 08-04-2013 12:49 PM

Re: Questions I have About Jesus

Don't look at repenting from your sins as something you HAVE to do. Look at it as something you WANT to do.

Re: Questions I have About Jesus

I never said I was a disciple of Christ. If I was trying to conceal who I am I would not have given you a riddle that if you solved it, you would know my name.
Besides they all know who I am in the Spirit.

A title IS a name. Did you read what I said? I distinguished between a name and a PERSONAL name

World English Dictionary
title (ˈtaɪt ə l)

— n
1. the distinctive name of a work of art, musical or literary composition, etc
2. a descriptive name, caption, or heading of a section of a book, speech, etc
3. See title page
4. a name or epithet signifying rank, office, or function
