TV watching You
When my husband and I first got into the church, RD Whalen preached a message on The Beast and talked about how you could be watched through the TV in the future. I was so freaked out that when I gave birth to my daughter in the hospital room, I asked my husband to turn the TV around facing backwards. Well, here we are:

P.S. I have had a piece of paper taped over my laptop's webcam for a couple of years.

Re: TV watching You
I remember back in the 80s hearing messages that the government was watching through the fiber optic lines. My mom used to put a coat or comforter over the tv whenever we would be staying in a hotel room.
It's not just limited to smart tv's. Some cell phones have been hacked and the front-facing camera used to watch as well. |

Re: TV watching You
Look. Impossible with tube tv's.
Possible with smart tv's that have a built in camera. |

Re: TV watching You
If your TV does not have a web cam, it cannot "watch" you. I also remember hearing (during the 80's) how your television (if you were a UPC family foolish enough to still have one after being preached into hell for disobeying your pastors order to get rid of it) could be turned into a device to monitor you from afar. Sorry, but aliens a billion years more advanced than us could not make something like that happen. Tube TV's simple did not have the capability. LCD and Plasma TV's do NOT have the capability -unless it was built in to begin with.

Re: TV watching You
They said the TVs could watch us because that would be the government's way of watching who was bowing to the antichrist as it would be law that everyone had to bow at a certain time.

Re: TV watching You
At the Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas, the pair explained how they found loopholes in older Samsung models and were able to turn on a set's video camera without the user's knowledge. Such a proof-of-concept attack has been demonstrated before, and Samsung reportedly has closed the loopholes. (Notice that new Samsung sets have a camera that can be flipped up to point at the ceiling.)
In fact, the U.S. government has demonstrated that it has just such a capability as part of its ongoing cyber espionage battle with foreign governments. Security analysts say the sophisticated spyware dubbed Flame was created by government programmers, and among its many features, the program is able to turn on a target's Web cam and record video (all without turning on the telltale flashing recording light). In addition, hackers routinely use programs called remote administration tools (or RATs) to switch on a victim's camera remotely, effectively turning the video camera in an office or living room into a private CCTV monitor. |

Re: TV watching You
It's really quite simple in the end, and this comes from the grandson of the former Chief of Operations in FCC.....
"If it has a label ANYWHERE on it stating (This Device Does/Must Accept FCC interference)" or in other words (This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.) 1. Don't depend on it in a real emergency. 2. Don't trust it! 3. Try to live without it as much as possible. For all these devices can become ill. |
Re: TV watching You
I'm just wondering what they're going to do with all this "information" that they can collect now through phones, tv, computers... That is a scary thought. How far is all this craziness going to go?
