Do you believe this, yes or no

the definition of Apostolic belief
  • Those that believe that every sinner must repent of their sins.
  • That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  • That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  • The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Too many questions together, it should be one point at a time.
you would get different responses.

She doesn't want different responses.

Re: Do you believe this, yes or no

I notice Timmy didn't vote. I had to vote NO because the individual definitions weren't explained. For instance, what does it mean "Jesus Name baptism"? Does this mean someone has to say "I baptize you in Jesus Name?" If so, then I still vote no.

In addition, although I think tongues is given by God to those who seek Him, I don't believe it's 'evidence' of the Holy Ghost. Evidence is needed for witnesses. If one is by themselves, why need 'evidence'?

If someone asks, "Do you have the Holy Ghost?", do you again have to speak in tongues to prove it?

Jesus said we would be known by our fruit. Tongues isn't mentioned in those scriptures.

Pondering whether to vote what I actually believe, or whether those points accurately represent Apostolic (as in "Apostolic Pentecostal") doctrine.

Think I'll go with the former. ;)

I should add that I do believe in being baptised in Jesus name as both Jesus and Peter stated we should do.

I do to, with the important caveat that while we are commanded to do it, baptism doesn't save per say. Meaning, if you die of something before the act takes places, you're still going to be 'a-ok'.

I dont affirm initial evidence doctrine
But I put a big fat emphasis on the last point.

While I agree, this is rare.

I also believe in deathbed repentance as well. Lots of people don't.

That's the beauty of the questions. It does not stipulate any "caveats"
