Speaking in tongues in a different voice

Does your voice change when you speak in tongues? Do you sound the same as if you were speaking English?

There were a few times when I spoke in tongues in a really deep voice. It's as if the words were coming from out of the belly. No other way to explain it.

It has before, not often. Same with singing in tongues.

Yes, Houston, I've noticed that. I believe the reason, is,... When you have the gift of divers 9unknown) tongues, you can speak in tongues anytime that you want to. Whisper, speak in a normal voice, sing or even think in tongues,

But there are times when the tongues do seem to come from the innermost part of your belly, that is when you are in deep travail or interceeding for someone or some thing.

No, though my voice has at times gotten higher from being emotional

Anyone else here "think" in tongues?

I've seen people 'type' in tongues, but I'm not sure that's real at all. I mean, what's the point?

My wife has a 365 day calendar of text messages that were "auto corrected" to say something else. They are hilarious!

How about, being serious about one of the greatest gifts that God ever gave. And I'm not talking about the Holy Ghost, which is the greatest gift, next to life itself.

But the gift of unknown tongues is one of God's great gifts. And yes it can be and has been abused. And that is because of the spiritual ignorance of the person abusing the gift. Therefore, I see that there needs to be more teaching on the gifts from God.

This happens often to me when i have been in prayer for a while and get deeper into the Spirit.

My pitch and tone changes frequently during prayer especially in tongues. Also changes with different languages.

I think sometimes people tend to get in a rut by doing the same things over and over rather than letting the Spirit lead them in prayer. I think tongues have sometimes been memorized and are produced by the mind rather than truly allowing the Spirit to give utterance. Just my thoughts.

A few times in prayer I was experiencing ¿contractions? in my stomach. There was no pain. I never heard of anyone having the same experience. I also did not share this with anyone.

I've experienced my tongues coming forth in a deeper voice than my normal speaking.

One of the most interesting experiences I had in prayer was when the tone of my tongues would change mid stream and back again several times. For example, my tongues would sound much like my normal tone of voice for a while. Then they would shift and become rather deep, authoritative, and "choppy" (for lack of a better word). Then they'd shift back and forth again for the remainder of the prayer session. One person heard me praying alone in the balcony one evening and asked me who I was praying with because they heard two people praying. He said it sounded like a "conversation". I wasn't sure what he was talking about at the time, but I assured him that I was in the balcony all by myself. Maybe my spirit and the Lord's Spirit were discussing the deeper things of God. Only the Lord and my "inner man" really knows.

Very interesting thought! never considered this.

I have had the same experience as well...but also went back and forth several times between different languages.

Oh what people who don't pray are missing out on. There is so much about the things of the Spirit that can be discovered in a prayer room. So many mysteries to be revealed. It saddens me that so many receive the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues, only to stay in the same evidential tongue the rest of their life. They may pray through several times but it is always a simple "refilling" rather than pressing deeper into the things of the Spirit.

So true! This is why I say that the church needs more teaching. You've got o remember, after a person receives the Holy Ghost, I believe that God gives them at least one gift. And not everyone has the gift of unknown tongues. However, I believe that most could have it, if they wanted it.
