Why Do You Want People Off The Forum?

If you can't discuss and defend your doctrine adequately, why punish the person who questions it?

It is not that we can't discuss and defend our doctrine, it is that we are obeying the bible when it says that we need to avoid endless disputations of men and questions that do not profit.

I do not mind discussing and defending my doctrine but there comes a point where I know I am wasting my time and just give up on the person and then go on to another person.

There comes a point when a Christian need to simply shake the dust of his shoes and go on to another more receptive audience.

Did you accept your doctrine as truth without questioning it?

If you can't or won't answer the questions put to you, why expect anyone to answer your questions?

IMO, I don't think God likes confusion or discord, so why make it or add to it? Its not *giving in* or *not defending or upholding ones Christian views*.

No, I did not, I have studied just about every doctrine and I have changed my mind on a few of them.

I no longer worship on Sunday, because I studied and realized the Sabbath was the correct day.

I no longer preach against drinking wine, for I studied the Bible and realized that the Bible is against the abuse of wine not the drinking of wine.

so yes I do question my doctrines.

And I expect answers to questions, not more questions instead of answers.

Do you wish to discuss scripture or just ask more questions instead of giving answers posed to you about what your beliefs are and about claims that you make?

Let's discuss scripture. How about this passage....not limiting it to the snippet you wish to limit it to.....

Joh 20:21 So Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you."
Joh 20:22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them and *said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.
Joh 20:23 "If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained."
Joh 20:24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
Joh 20:25 So the other disciples were saying to him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the imprint of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe."
Joh 20:26 After eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus *came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said, "Peace be with you."
Joh 20:27 Then He *said to Thomas, "Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing."
Joh 20:28 Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"
Joh 20:29 Jesus *said to him, "Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed."

There are many things to discuss in the passage, not just the John 20:28 snippet you're so fond of.

So then we can discuss the whole passage EXCEPT for vs 28? Sorry, I'll pass.

Did I say discuss the whole passage EXCEPT for verse 28? If you're having reading comprehension this early on with very simple concepts I don't hold much nope for discussing the deep theological truths in the passage with you.

Yet you haven't quoted my alleged (by you) lie I've asked you to quote. Why?

Another double standard. Iron sharpens iron but when it cuts into ones theology, then it's just causing discord and unprofitable.

This isn’t about theology. I disagree with a lot of very nice folk here on this forum as it relates to our various theological views. We even debate/discuss...even heatedly at times. It’s wonderful. I count these folks as friends. Even those who are now Trinitarians who believe one is saved at repentance.... or even worse, when one accepts the Lord Jesus as their personal savior. Friends.

The issue isn’t one of "iron sharping anything". The issue for me is one person who has latched on to one very stupid myopic little tiny issue that is really a bigger issue among Trinitarian fundamentalists than it is among Apostolics for the purpose of chasing Brother Epley around the board and yelling and screaming and being a general jerk. (I want to use the word idiot but it would be misinterpreted as an insult and not by its historic definition related to one of minute intellect who acts out loudly and uncontrollably)

If it was about Iron, and the sharpening thereof, I would be utterly nonplused and thoroughly happy….
