Rude Libs.

Alot of times people say UCs are mean-spirited and rude ,but some Libs are rude. Not all of them but some certainly are.
I called a Pastor in a community two counties away from me.
I have known this man from when I lived in that community ,before I ever seriously thought of giving my life to The Lord.
I consider this Pastor a Brother In Christ ,even though he is about as Liberal as it can go.
But The Lord laid Him on my mind and I called to see how He and His family were doing and to see how the church was doing ,and he hung up the phone on me.
So some Libs are rude.

berkeley 06-06-2007 06:00 PM

People are rude. It has nothing to do with being Lib or Con.

TalkLady 06-06-2007 06:01 PM

WOW...What a horrible and rude thing for him to do.......Bro. Hutchison, I have learned that some people you just have to "mark off your list"...I think I would cease and desist from contacting him at least for a while and maybe permanently. You had good intentions. That is what matters to God.

Scott Hutchinson 06-06-2007 06:02 PM

I know that Berk but alot of time people pen that on the UCs ,when some Libs are this way as well.

It's ok but I really didn't understand it ,if I had called at a bad time or something I wish The Brother would have told me.

Right. It is also true that Cons draw an inaccurate picture of liberals.

That's true.......Some UPC folks can be super rude and some can actually be very nice - same with independents. It depends on what is in the heart, not the label.

Scott Hutchinson 06-06-2007 06:06 PM

Actually to tell you the truth this Con and Lib thing does get old.

I can't imagine why he would just hang up on you....One thing for sure: he needs prayer. Sometimes I think when I come across people like this that God is pointing them out to me to pray for them. Who knows what this person is dealing with. Life is difficult and everyone is carrying their own set of burdens.

Right, and your thread is about the rudeness of liberals.

I HATE the Con or Lib label. To tell you the truth, some days I think I am a Con and some days I think I am a Lib. From my posts, people on here probably don't know me well enough to say I am a Con or a Lib. I just want to be right with God.

We need to forget about wearing the labels of Con, Mod, and Lib. The church needs to stop fighting and continue to pursue after His presence.

Scott Hutchinson 06-06-2007 06:10 PM

Well Berk sometimes folks say Ucs are mean and harsh but alot of them are very kind ,just like alot of Libs are.
As a matter alot of The Libs have treated me very well.

I second that Amen, tamor!

Maybe this thread is a mistake , I certainly don't mean to cause any contention here.

There is no contention. Now quit walking on egg shells and put some "umph" behind your posts.

So are you saying that we need to be God chasers? :sly

We know that....If you hadn't told us the man was a "liberal" we would have no point of reference, I guess.

I am saying that the Apostolic movement has lost its focus and has put the cart before the horse. We need to rekindle the passion that we used to have and pursue HIM.

Rev. 2:4,5
"...I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works..."

AAAHHHHH! My bad! Sorry.

TalkLady 06-06-2007 06:31 PM

That's for sure....Don't look to the right (Cons) or to the left (Libs) but look straight at Jesus, if you're going to get out of the boat and walk on the water toward a pursuit of Jesus Christ! :thumbsup

When I was younger, I got so sick of normal church. We are so programmed. Once I mentioned to someone that I doubt many in the American church will make it. I am not saying that I still feel this way,and I am not saying that I don't feel this way.

I am sick of normal church/programmed church now. It's like everything is already planned in most churches. The only thing we lack sometimes is giving out a printed program. I want to find a church where the Spirit of God is moving and people are being touched by the presence of God.

Scott, Call him back. You never know what happened and why...or mail him. Be kind and not accusing. Maybe something happened and he did not have caller ID or whatever to call back. Maybe he is going through a rough time right now in the family and thought someone was being cruel etc etc

BTW Liberals can be just as rude, crude and cruel as Cons. It's not all about ideology, but about the individual and where their heart is at

Maybe they just had a death in the family and he is not thinking straight....maybe he misunderstood you and thought you were an evil telemarketer

Right that's proably what I should do.

Do it. You already took the first step and got the door slammed in your face so to speak...got that out of the way right? Keep it up, maybe send a letter or a card and just tell him you were thinking of them and hoped everything was alright. Leave your number. If they don't call or they do but tell you to take a hike, fine. Now you know :-)

Scott Hutchinson 06-06-2007 07:10 PM

Prax I'm glad you're my friend.

As far as I remember I didn't but I proably just called at a bad time or something.

Scott, he probably thought the Lord was about to tell you that he should pay your rent or something. This is a common thing now, "God wants you to help me..."

ChTatum 06-06-2007 07:40 PM

Scott,
Let me go on record as saying anytime I have been rude, it was entirely INTENTIONAL!

Love you, bro!

Nahum 06-06-2007 07:44 PM

Reasons he really hung up on Scott:

1. "Is your refrigerator running"?
2. "Do you have Prince Albert in a can"?
3. "Do you have a John there?", "uhm no, there's no John here", "Well then how do you go wee wee"?
